Guest guest
Hi everyone: As you know Hannah is battling pneumonia. We have had asthma issues since she was born, but this is our first bout with pneumonia. Her fever broke yesterday morning. She continues with that deep " barking " cough and still having trouble sleeping, but that is starting to improve too. She is on 300mg Omnicef daily and I've been giving her the guifenasen (sp?) that recommended. Now for my question...she is complaining since yesterday that her chest hurts. I'm sure its from the coughing, but Motrin does not help. Is there anything to make her chest more comfortable? I've tried heat, but don't want to do that too often as that can sometimes set off her asthma....heavy sigh. I also put a humidifier in her room for bedtime. Any other suggestions??? Sending prayers & happy thoughts, Beth :-)
Guest guest
Beth, I was just going to email you to get an update and was glad to see one hear. also had lots of chest pain. That and headaches were his major symptoms. Not much helped other than resting and giving him tylenol. have you elevated the head of her bed yet. That may help with the cough. I believe the first week is the hardest. Hopefully, she will start to turn the corner soon. Keep pushing lots of fluids...that is incredibly important! Whatever you do once she starts feeling better have her take it slow. We went to quick with alex in his return to school and then he backslid a bit. When her energy returns she will think she is capable of doing far more than she can...Like said " my head says I can do it, but my body wont go " (aundrea 11 systemic jra/gerd) - -- In , Beth Yohnk <yohnkmom@...> wrote: > > Hi everyone: > > As you know Hannah is battling pneumonia.
