Georgina,

My step dad called me and told me about the Earthquake. First thing that

came to mind was You and your Family. My Step Dad said now I know some of

the area but it has been so long I am not sure. So I was going to email you

earlier.

Ok here's the Laughing part. I am glad Y'all are ok. But did you have to

shake rattle and roll? lololol. Hope no one got hurt and all can be fixed.

Hi,

We're okay. It was a loud, long bunch of rumbles this morning though! My bed was

moving around like the one in the Exorcist! The glass from the windows was

vibrating loudly. Our poor little cat, Baby ... he was running around in

circles, with his hair on end, not knowing what to do. He eventually dove

underneath my bed for cover, scared when some things fell down from all the

shaking. That was 9 hours ago. He hasn't come out since! When Kayla tried to

coax him out to comfort him, he hissed at her. So - we're considering this a

learning experience ... for the kitty who seemed to think he knew it all :) We

heard some of the roads got blocked with falling boulders and rocks so we've

decided not to go out driving today. I thought it might rain today so I went out

and got groceries just last night. Now that the power's back on again, nothing

got spoiled. One of my aquarium filters still isn't working but that's the only

problem here ... so we're fine. Thanks for your concern, though. There was more

damage on the Big Island. Some ceilings caved in and a lot of bridges got

damaged, or so I've heard. Not sure if power has been restored there yet ... or

not.

Aloha,

Georgina

OT: Earthquakes in Hawaii

G'day all,

I awoke this morning to hear of big quakes in Hawaii. Apparently

most of the state has power outages, so I haven't been able to

contact Georgina and her family.

Anyone know how close these are to their area, in Kahului, Maui, HI?

My geography is not good at the best of times.

Sending thoughts and prayers to our " Den Mother " anyhow!

Hi,

During the night, Kayla had come in to my room. She was with me in the morning

when it woke us. I sat up in bed and put my feet over the side, down on the

floor, to see how strong the rumbling was. The I got out of bed and went down

the hall to 's room to be sure he was okay. He's a very heavy sleeper but

had been shaken awake too. It was kind of funny because he had the most puzzled

expression on his face. No words yet ... just a very quizzical look ... as time

seemed to stand still while the earth did what the earth will sometimes do.

First thing we wondered was, did the volcano erupt? Next was, will this generate

a tsunami (tidal wave)? Will we need to pack up and head up the mountain? We

listened for the warning sirens. Which didn't go off. Then we got the battery

powered radio and listened to the reports. We're all safe and sound, though :)

So glad to hear from you Georgina! When I heard about the quakes, I

tried to sign in to post and make sure all was well, but I do not have

my info at home and could not remember any of my sign in stuff. Thanks

for the update and I am happy to see you are doing ok. Michele (
