Betty,

Be prepared. It is brutally hot out west here (we live in the San

Valley which is always at least 10 to 20 degrees hotter than Los

Angeles). It was over 100 in Southern CA today and you can imagine out

in the desert of Las Vegas. And don't let anyone tell you dry heat is

not at hot as humid heat. I am from Jersey (out here for 24 years) and

hot is hot. It may be dry, but it is HOT!!!!

Have a great time in Vegas. It is one of our favorite places to go for

a weekend. It is only 3 1/2 hours away from where we live. We go about

once a month. Hope you win. And be sure to see the brand new casinos,

The Venetian, Paris, New York New York and the best, Bellagio. They are

all so beautiful.

Have fun.

Thanks for your note. You were right. It was HOT. We are from New England,

live in Col. 3yrs., IL 3yrs. and now in Va. many. I can't imagine living

there except I guess it is cheap. I'd rather pay more somewhere else. We

were there yrs. ago, but had a car so went back to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam,

did see the beautiful hotels, the beautiful shows of light on Fremont St and

on the Strip. We gambled mostly at Sam's Town which we liked along with

their water show. Food was great, and people so helpful and friendly. We

got back this 5:30 Am so having a slow day. My feet swelled up twice their

size last couple of days. Almost down now. Thanks again for note Betty

Bally is also know as Bally Park Place. The Paris Hotel is part of the

Park Place corporation. I called and spoke with the risk manager at

the Paris today, talk about a bitch!..For a risk manager she either is

ignorant of the mold situation or electing to shrug it off on to the hotel

manager or head of housekeeing. She didn't want to hear about any

possible problem.

THe Rio hotel is safer than most of the other ones. Just go thru Dennis

Lindenbach the risk manager for a room assistance if you have MCS issues.

I have discovered that the Doubletree hotels in San Francisco, Monterrey

and Dana point, are willing to detox a room. I am not sure about the one

in Vegas.

There is SUPPOSE to be a GREEN hotel called the Crowne Royal on Paradise.

It's NOT green nor is it safe.

Hope this helps,

Angel

The Doubletree in Modesto is a whup job too but it's in the elevator

shaft. The room wasn't nearly as bad as getting to and fro.

We need to do a Mold Rating guide for Travelers.

Just kidding. It wouldn't work due to the variable factors of spore

cloud release from humidity and barometric pressure change.

Not to mention wind direction change and plume vectors as cold fronts

pass through.

This lifestyle is darn tricky.

Define detox. I find 79-129 is VERY reasonable. The rates varry upon

occupancy. I pay various amounts depending on wheter or not it is full or

empty. The strip hotels are over priced and your raped for the

*ambience*.

I was just kidding. I live here, so I don't ever stay in the hotels. If Iwere well enough I would camp out in the mountains. They are so much morebeautiful than any casino. Just me. You can get a room at the Doubletree atDana Point for $79?a

We did last year. They detoxed the room but I found it not as good as

Monterrey and San Fran.

Do you use Barlow?

Do all you guys travel that much to know hotels??? I can barely leave my house!!!Janet Hi Janet,

My travel experience is more limited to Motel 6. I have been a few nice places.

But as to health issues, I am not so limited. I got sick in 1995 and was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. Then I was lucky enough to get a research test for mycoplasma. Because that showed up I was treated with antibiotics and was one of the few who responded. But I had to stay on antibiotics or I would relapse.

This past spring I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease which I have probably had for 30 years. One of my sons also has this and was just diagnosed. He has probably been infected since birth as I am pretty sure I got it a year before he was born. The other son is fine so far.

I only realized that toxins/mold played a part in my illness this year. For me the toxins are maybe not the biggest factor, but who knows. This whole thing is a mess. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am not as sick as some due to effective treatment of the infections.

Raise hell enough with the ADA accommodation issue...you bet. Right now

the airlines are looking into fragrances in planes.

I will be posting very shortly information to write as they are revamping

some rules and regs.

Carol,

I hadn't thought about wearing slip on shoes. That is a great suggestion to

do...:)

Also, wrapping the meds in a handtowel is something I hadn't thought about

doing either. My DH and I have our room already reserved and bless his heart he

did remember to ask for a handicap room in which I was proud of him for doing

that.

From your email it sounds like you have been to Vegas. If you have any other

suggestions you can think of that would be helpful I would be most

appreciative. This will my DH and myself first time to go. I am looking

forward to it

as it will be a nice break from work.

Wanda :)

Hi Kathleen, I love the sound of a Lazy River ride! I also feel we

should be as centrally located as possible and always like a fridge &

MW-Oven in the room. If a free breakfast is included in room price,

that's a bonus, too. Hope this can all be worked out; I'm very excited

about the prospect of meeting others like myself. Later, Marty

.... Monte Carlo and a normal price has been $79.00 to $99.00 a night

for a nice two queen bed room with fridge and micowave. ...The hotel

is a bit more central then the Bellagio and priced more reasonable.

They have a great heated wave pool and a heated lazy river pool...
