Thank you so much for all the great info. Its good to know all this

stuff so we know what we are facing and what questions to bring up. I

will feel much better once we see our regular rheumy on Wednesday. We

have missed her so much. The temp. one was great too, he really knew

his stuff, but we were only there for the short term and I dont think

he was very willing to get truly involved in Nicks total care. I don't

blame him, Im sure his work load was horrendous with one rheumy out

for close to a year.

We are so blessed in the Twin Cities, we have another new rheumy that

started in August, A Dr. Mona LaPlant ( has anyone ever seen her???)

So that makes it 4 rheumies in the Twin Cities alone and rumor has it

we are getting a 5th one, but he will be more into the research

aspect. We also have another one just an hour south at the Mayo

Clinic. Six ped rheumatologists within a 2 hour radius, WOW!!

I know your old rheumy will look at the full picture and we will have

a better plan of action. I am hoping we will have news from the UGI by

then too.

Im sorry the PT is not helping Rob's knee as much as you were hoping,

hes such a tropper for still working with all that hes going though.

How scary driving home for him in the rain. Thank goodness he was ok (

although im sure he was more worried about his beloved caddie)

You take it easy girlfriend, rest up this weekend and get better. I

hope the mtx increase helps. You are now up to Nicks dose :o)) have

you discussed any other meds if the enbrel is not working fully, like

humira??

rest up and stay off the stairs will ya!!!

Helen:

I'm so glad that you are getting Nick's regular rheumy back...I know

it will be a huge sigh of relief! It is so awesome that your area has

so many resources and docs. I grieve for the states like Kentucky who

are down to one rheumy for the whole state, and the states that have

absolutely NO ped rheumies at all! It seems like the areas of more

economic hardship do not have ped rheumies...which breaks my heart

since the parents likely don't have the resources to travel to one. I

count my blessings all the time in that department.

I'd stay off the stairs if my guys knew how to do laundry properly!

At least once a month my hubbie ignores my instructions on laundry

and shrinks or ruins something. WHen I was in a car wreck a few years

ago with various broken bones, my incentive to get better was to be

able to go up and down steps to stop him from doing the laundry! It

amazes me that someone who can understand ELECTRICITY of all things

and work with complex manufacturering equipment and robotics can't

understand that you simply CANT put some things in the dryer! GEESH!

Oops, got started on one of my pet peeves.

I hope that Nick's week goes well, your rheumy is ready to get Nick

feeling better and that you get some answers!!

Take care,

and Rob 17 Spondy

Im sorry that Drea had a hard time with the increase, she really is

so sensitive to the MTX, poor child. I think upping her pre meds is

a good way to go and see how that goes. Hopefully she will not feel

as bad next week.
