Hi,

was at Cinci Monday and had a great apointment...Grown over 2 "

since Feb and gained 2 kilos.Qote from Dr.Lovell " We like to see 1 kilo per

inch. "

The morning stiffness is normal in children with JRA,the joint/joints may

stiffen without inflimation, the key is duration of under 15 minuites. No ryme or

reason for the nasty escapade of leg pain the night of and an 80 yr old man

walk the morning after a 6 hr back to school tax free weekend shoping spree.lol

Finaly after the same dose of starting 4 yrs ago the Enbrel has been

raised.Try the new dose for 2 months and if is still a little stiff legged

in

the morning go back to the 1ml 1x a week.

Anyway after punching numbers on the calculator can take 1.3ml a

week.(starting dose of .4mg per kilo)

Things sure have changed quick. The original Enbrel can now be taken all at

once in the same shot.Studies going on right now with kids taking 2ml or 50mg

all at once.

I just know will freak at the bigger syringe and I don't recall a huge

option with the BD 27 gauge 1/2 " needle precision glide.

Before I ask my question I will follow up by saying....Puffiness in the

ankle/ankles very questionable...where the morning stiffness is comming from. The

boy is just 8 and 6 weeks, is 4'5 " and weighs 85lbs.Certain areas are a bit

puffy, lol but you can already see a 6 pack under the tummy. resisted at a

point of having his very stuborn lft wrist pushed back but denied pain when

questioned immediately. On upward and downward prayer position, pushing hands

together and raising arms to a hopefuly 90 degree, passed with flying

colors.Same

thing 3 months ago localy at Vanderbilt. No lost ROM on exam but just naturaly

jumping on the table the lft wrist was protected at around a 45 degree.I think

old habits are hard to break because if you ask him to he can bare all weight on

his palms with his wrists at a full 90.

s has 3 options.

1) 1.3ml 1x a week in a bigger syringe with not so much variety in needles.

2) .65ml 2 x a week

3) .7ml of the 50mg per ml 1 x a week... did not get into it but do not waste

the rest. Most likely some 7 day thing like non preservative MTX used to be.

I pretty much figure option 1 is out just from syringfe size().No needle

that pierces an Enbrel stopper is poking my boy let alone two stopers (mommy).

We do have Emla and aren't scared to leave it on for 2-3 hrs max. When

was younger it took that to convince him he was numb.To this day is as numb as

numb could be.

Dr. Lovell says, that in his experiance kids that have never had the 25mg per

ml tolerate the 50mg vial better then those that have had the 25mg

vial...UHOH!!!!!

I know opted for the 25mg 2x a week after trying it while just

pulls the plunger off his own syringe and squirts the 50mg in it.

Anyone with experiance please let me know how it went.

Becki and 8 systemic
