Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Just thought I'd share that we had Aundrea's 504 meeting today. It went so well. Three of her teachers were there along with the nurse and guidance counselor. They were so accommodating and willing to do whatever it takes to help drea feel comfortable during her school day as well as creating options for her to dictate homework, use a computer, turn homework in late if not feeling well, participate in pe at her own discresion, carbon copy notes etc...I felt like they really had a good understanding of Aundrea's disease and for the first time I felt like I did a better job educating the school staff than in the past and giving them some resources to truly have at least a working definition of what jra is. The guidance counselor told me that the 504 can have ammendments made anytime during the school year if new needs arise and that a 504 meeting will be held annually to review her needs for each school year. JRA is a rotten disease to deal with, but at least I feel good about doing everything I can to improve Aundrea's school day and give her all the options that we can to help her achieve her best! Blessings, (Aundrea 11 systemic)
