Guest guest
I have a question...is it possible to get a new involved joint while on mtx? I thought that mtx was supposed to slow or stop the addition of new joints. Did I get that wrong? Elaney has been on mtx for about 4 months, yet she has started having pain in her left hip. I can't see any swelling or feel any heat. Maybe I am paranoid. Tomorrow is Elaney's cardiology appt and I am anxious about it. Last year the dr said that she would be needing heart surgery sooner than expected. After her first surgery (at 5 days of age) the surgeon said she wouldn't need surgery again until the age of 35 or 40. Now they think it will be in her teens. Also, today I looked at carepages sites of kids w/ heart problems. In 4 of the sites I found that the child had died soon after surgery. I cried the entire time, then I had a pity party for myself. After about 3 hours of that I finally came to my senses. It is just that it never seems to end. After I think the heart problem is under control then she gets arthritis and then it gets worse and then she needs another surgery sooner than expected! Well, maybe tomorrow's appt will give us good news. Please keep Elaney in your prayers and I will update as soon as possible.--- & Elaney(12 poly)
