Guest guest
Okay guys. We just got back from the eye doctor. Guess what? Clear? No cells? you might think? No... Life can't be that easy for us!! Not Miss Caroline! (Can you sense my frustration?) Caroline is a trace in the left eye and a 1+ in the right eye. We are now bumping her up to eye drops SIX times per day each eye. We are also readding PREDNISONE!!!!! She is going to be taking 20mg PER day for the next 2 weeks and then we'll ATTEMPT a slow taper. Can you all say GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No plans on halting the Remicade for now, but we'll see after the doc's get together. Both her rheumy and eye doc are in a state of shock! Alia and Caroline, age 4, poly and uveitis Evan Guy, Just turned the big NUMBER 1!!
Guest guest
Alia: I wholeheartedly agree with your major GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Everyday brings something new to Hannah as well. Hope the drops & pred help. Does she actually sit still for all those drops?!? Hannah would be fine, Jay would need large expensive bribes for that...LOL. Alia Pranke <aliaalan@...> wrote: Okay guys. Guest guest
I'm so sorry that Caroline continues to have to face these problems... this kid just can't get a break! I'm always praying for her and I'm hoping it starts to turn around real soon. Is she at least having a fun summer? Lots of Love (JAS, 21) Alia Pranke <aliaalan@...> wrote: Okay guys. Guest guest
Wow, I can't believe Evan is a year old already...Seems like you had him just yesterday! Sorry to hear that things haven't improved with Caroline's eyes. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be and having to restart pred, which is a major reason for a big GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Guest guest
Thanks - Yes, it is frustrating. We worked for so long and so hard to get rid of that nasty Prednisone. Very dissapointing. Yes, time flies. He is a mover and a shaker now. The other day he figured out how to walk backwards - very cute! He's trying to run and keep up with his big sis, but she's a little too fast for him! Guest guest
Thanks Michele - We are hoping for a miracle too.. The Mayo Clinic suggested we go to Cincy - maybe that's next on our list!! Guest guest
Hi Alia: Sorry to hear about Miss Caroline's continuing trouble with her eyes, poor baby has been through the ringer and then some. With all that has gone on with her beautiful eyes, how is her sight? Eye drops six times a day, good grief you must feel like you are doing it every time you turn around! Good luck with the prednisone and the taper. Will keep Caroline in my prayers and hope next time there are NO cells. Take care. Patty P.S. Happy belated birthday to Evan Guy. I can't believe he's a year already LOL, time flies.
