Guest guest
Tanis - my heart goes out to you and your little girls. What other blood work has been done so far? We know a family here in Columbus and their two younger children have arthritis - among other autoimmune diseases. They also see Dr. Vogler and the Institute for Health in New Jersey. Hang in there - try to stay calm and if she gets to feeling to bad - call Dr. Vogler back - we did several times - My husband's aunt lives in Lawrencville and she was recently diagnosed with Lymes disease - that is why I was asking what other lab work had been done. How long has she been sick - any other symptoms ? Sandi Ken Hunter (7 Systemic)
Guest guest
There have been many days that Madison couldn't walk until after lunchtime. She would just sit on the floor and tell us to carry her. Also when her JRA started she couldn't walk for months. Good luck and I hope and pray it's not JRA!!! Ashlee (Madison, 3 1/2, Poly and Iritis) Back form the Rheumy- Well as I already expected, since has not had the symptoms for 6 weeks, she has been diagnosed with Unspecific Monoarticular Arthritis. At this point, Dr. Volger has put her on naproxen for the next month. He also wants me to go ahead and have her eyes tested. In my opinion it doesn't look good, I am not trying to be negative, just realistic. If her symptoms dissapear in the next two weeks, we are probably in the clear. Otherwise he wants more bloodwork on her in two to three weeks and will see her again July 24th. My poor baby cannot walk at all today. Yesterday it lasted about 3 hours, and then went on to limp and then was fine. Today by naptime, she still was unable to put weight on her leg without screaming in pain. Is this normal? This type of reaction is new to me since the joints that affect Kylie are not weight bearing joints. I am just sick about this. I wish I could fast forward three weeks to know if she is going to be better or not. Ugh, waiting is the worst isn't it?! Guest guest
Tanis, I've read your posts and wanted you to know that I'm praying for your little girl. My daughter was diagnosed with poly JRA a couple of months ago. She's now 20 months old. It's in her fingers, toes, wrists, ankles and now her right knee. When it went to her knee last week, she stopped walking and started crawling. But even before that, there were many mornings she wouldn't walk for a few hours after waking up. Good luck.....hope that this is something that's temporary and not JRA. Guest guest
Thanks for your concern, everyone- She is having all the " typical " blood work, (same as Kylie had). The only other symptoms is irritability (the last 6-8wks) and not sleeping well. The swelling I only noticed on Wed. but she has chubby knees and may have been swollen for a while just not as severely. The trouble walking in the morning occured a few weeks ago, and then never happened again until Wed. It took her about 3 hours to loosen up on WEd and until 4 pm yesterday. This morning, she is still swollen but able to walk with minimal stiffness. She is not complaining at all, whereas yesterday she whined all day about her leg. Is it normal to go from one extreme to the other so quickly? I am familiar with this because of Kylie, but has never seemed to suffer as much as did the last two days. I'm assuming it is just different since it's a weight bearing joint. So full of soooo many questions! Guest guest
That is just plain crazy- she is running around like nobody;s business but this time yesterday she was completely immobile. Is this just one more finger that is pointing to the fact it is in fact jra? Guest guest
Tanis: We have been on vacation and I am waay behind on e-mails. I am sending happy thoughts, well wishes, lots of prayers & hugs your way. Yes, believe me waiting is the worst. I sure hope you get answers sooner than we are. I has been almost 3 months since we first saw the rheumy and I still have no idea what diagnosis they are going to give Hannah. I hate waitng, but more I hate seeing her in pain every day. Please keep me posted. littlet_78 <littlet_78@...> wrote: Well as I already expected, since has not had the symptoms for 6 weeks, she has been diagnosed with Unspecific Monoarticular Arthritis.
