Tanis - Dr. Vogler is our Rheumy - we have been seeing him for 2 1/2 years

now. This will be our first conference. I would register for the conference

and then attend what you are able to see. Have you been contacted by the

Arthritis Foundation yet about the Foundation paying your part of the

registration? Hunter has taken Naproxen now for 2 1/2 years too. We always

have her

eat something prior to taking it and always give it with milk. It has been

great as far as for her pain and inflammation. The Zantac didn't work for us

and we ended up using Prevacid instead. Hope to meet you at the conference.

Tanis:

That is really interesting. Hannah takes 500mg of Naproxen daily. I have

noticed that her hands start peeling after being out the sun. I asked the ped

this week and he said to keep on eye it. She also takes Nexium everyday and I

give all her pills to her in the morning. She still also on pred right now from

her recent asthma attack. I too would be curious about your questions.

P.S. I was trying to work out going to the conference at the urging of

Robbin, but found out we have to go to St. MN that weekend for a wedding.

Since we live in ATL, I just assumed that we would definately be

going to the conference. Unfortunately, my husnad can't seem to

take the days off work, and can't see us taking the kids there to be

there ALL DAY for 3 days. (That is a lot, with no naps and late

nights = NIGHTMARE!) I am heartbroken, because I thought we would

really benefit from this conference. I think Kylie's Rheumy is

Now for the rash, Kylie has been on Naproxen since mid-March. I

noticed that she had this rash only on her elbows after spending a

lot of time at the pool this past weekend. I cover her in sunscreen

and reapply hourly, am I supposed to keep her out of the sun on the

naproxen? no one has said anything, but I spoke to the nurse at

Emory (rheumy) and was told that she is supposed to be taking her

zantac 30 mins before the naproxen- I never knew that! I am

wondering what else I should know!!!

That's it- and thanks for the responses, I am just sticking with

starting the MTX once we get back from the beach on the 18th.

Hi Tanis,

You can attend as many or as few of the presentations as you care to. When you

look at the topics, you will probably find that there are many you want to

attend. The kids groups are set up by age and I would think that nap time would

be included for the appropriate ages - you could probably get more information

from whoever is in charge of the children's program. Have you checked the

agenda - the first night is the opening ceremony and dinner, otherwise the days

end at 5:00, except for the last day which is over by lunchtime. If it was

local for me there is no way I would miss it.
