Congrats . You are doing great and it shows. Getting compliments is

something I still have not got used to yet, but it happens almost daily. Not

only do you feel better physically, but your friends make you feel better

emotionally also.

Your weight loss is awesome. Enjoy the journey. It's such a

wonderful thing to finally have hope that we will no longer be

trapped in an obese body. I heard something at clinic that I wanted

to share with everyone. MEASURE yourself everywhere. There will come

a time when your body will start rearranging itself and you won't

see pounds gone on the scale but will lose inches and things shift.

That will carry you through what seems to be plateaus. I had such a

whirlwind life immediately after I lost weight that I didn't get

to do that. Within 3 mos of my surgery I gained a husband, lost a

father, my sister had surgery and then she had pneumonia .... so as

you can see I was pretty busy and did not even think to measure

myself.

Good luck. Be happy and be well.

Cheryl.

Thanks for your reply.

The only thing I measured before surgery was my waist----a whopping 66

inches! Boy was that depressing!

The last time it was measured (3 weeks ago) it was down to 59 inches. I knew

I had lost because I needed new underwear!

Since I have joined Curves, they measure you each month----so this way I

will never forget!

I'm prepared for the plateaus and for the weight loss to slow down.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father.

I hope you reach your goal (or lower!), I hope your sister is feeling better

and congratulations on the marriage!

Best wishes.

Congratulations on the new baby AND the continued weight loss. Great news!

thought I'd share

Hi everyone.

I wanted to keep you all updated on how I am doing--especially those of

you who are thinking about having kids after the surgery.

As some of you may know, I gave birth on July 22 to a beautiful baby

girl----very healthy. I gained 30 lbs during my pregnancy. I am vegetarian

but felt the need to consume dairy products (not milk) during the pregnancy.

All the weight I gained was only centered in the belly, I continued to wear

the same clothes and ate pretty much what I wanted. In fact, I noticed that

I could eat larger portions and more often. I was a little nervous that I

was stretching my stomach, but stayed positive that once the baby was born,

it would all go back to normal. Thank goodness I was right.

I immediately couldn't eat the portions sizes I was, a lot of cravings I

had were gone and as of today, I have lost the 30 lbs gained during

pregnancy!!

I now have about 80 more pounds to lose to get to my goal weight.

I feel great and the baby's doing great too.

Best wishes to all of you.

, so glad to hear you are doing well!!!! I have 4 more weeks to go and

am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little princess! Hopefully, she will

follow her brother's lead and come early. I delivered him at 37 weeks.

Take care of yourself and all of your little blessings! Warmly, Alisha

For those that don't know too much about me personally, I own my own soap

and bath products business. Through his I get to met a lot of different people,

mainly ones that have some sort of chronic illness or disease, and find their

crafts or hobbies are a type of therapy to them.

One of the people I have met is a lady named who owns an

e-magazine called " But You Don't Look Sick "

Here's a little info about it:

" " " ButYouDontLookSick.com.

It is an e-magazine for anyone living with or loving someone with an

invisable

disease or chronic pain. (like lupus, arthritis, cancer, MS, etc) We

have articles on Tons of topics, as well as book reviews, product

reviews and more.

Our articles are now syndicated and featured throughout the US,

Canada and UK. We have a message board, and an online store. " " "

I haven't had time to read the entire site yet, but I found it interesting

and helpful, especially the tips on how to occupy your kids during long dr's

visits.

I didn't know if anyone would be interested, but I figured I'd share Just in

case.

COOOL I will go to the E- Mag site. Here's a tip that came to my mind

when I read your email. lolol. Ok MOMS you really have to get creative with the

kids. lolol. I would take in and sit. Waiting and waiting.

welllllllllllllllllllllllll would start getting antsy.

So she would start to piddle around in that exam room. lolol. She had

already read all the books in that exam room. Sitting bored as a bat. I got the

idea of that darn old rubber glove lolol. I got one and blew it up and got a ink

pen from my purse. I drew a face on it and popped it to . I said ok

you have to hit it and not let it touch the floor. Well here we were playing

in that room. The nurse came in and said ummmm what are y'all doing? I said

playing what else is there to do lolol. She said you know y'all shouldn't be

messing with those gloves I said yes ma'am I know that but you do not have to

occupy a child either lolol. She laughed and said ok no hitting that hard ok.

I said you got it. and I had fun with those Latex Free glove

balloons. I went after that thing and tipped off the chair and hit the floor.

busted out laughing at me and said I won that one. lolol. I looked at her

and said well yes you did but I wasn't going to let you hit the floor lolol.

The exam table is farther from the floor. We hear a knock on the door and it

was the Dr lolol. She said wellll how are y'all doing today. Sounds like y'all

are having fun. said yes ma;am we are and I am winning. She laughed

at us all the time. This dr said y'all 2 could have fun by looking at each

other. lolol. The Dr never got onto us about using those handy gloves. lolol.
