Guest guest
, I was reading your note and we live in Kansas also. My Jaye is 12 also. She was just diagnosed this past year. You are the first person I have noticed on here that is from Kansas. We see Dr. Lindsley at KU Medical Center in Kansas City usually. In June we get to see her in Wichita though and that will save us many hours on the road. Veri & Jaye 12 poly
Guest guest
Veri, We live in north east Kansas near Lawrence(home of KU jayhawks) and usually go to Children's Mercy Hospital which is very close to KU Med Center. In fact, Elaney was born at KU Med. We see Dr. Canty. He is relatively new and we like him a lot. I have heard of Dr. Lindsley but have never met her. Sometimes we go to Little River, KS to visit my grandmother. Little River is near McPherson. Do any of these places sound familiar? Elaney(12) has had JRA for about 4 yrs and recently came out of remission only to find her JRA getting worse. --- & Elaney(12 poly) & Elyssa(7) veristroud@... wrote: , I was reading your note and we live in Kansas also. Guest guest
, We live in Newton which is just 30 miles south of McPherson. Jaye is pretty new to the JRA, she began having problems in October and was diagnosed by the end of December. Our Pediatrician was very quick to suggest JRA and to get us into Dr. Lindsley. was 11 and able to communicate with us well as to what was hurting and not. Since she knew she had not done anything to injur herself and the x-rays showed no injury we got a good jump on it. She had a rough time for about four months and is now doing very well. She still has swelling in her ankle but not much and her pain is gone. Her first joint was her right ankle but quickly it moved to several other joints. But as of now she has no pain most days. also has asthma and a seizure disorder. Her asthma causes her problems regularly but she has not had a seizure in the past three years, yea. In March her neurologist took her off of one of her seizure meds and by the first of May she was off her second seizure medication. But due to her having bad headaches all day every day we had to put her back on her Keppra, but it is at a lower dose then she was on before.
