The San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is holding their

annual Juvenile Arthritis Day next Saturday April 1rst and I was wondering if

anyone from the bay area is going? I will be volunteering there that day with

the oldest group (I believe that is the 11-14 group). If anyone from this area

(I think there are a few of us) are still interested you do have time to set up,

its a good opportunity to get to see what some of the local hospitals offer,

hear some exciting news about new treatment (not sure how new it will seem to

everyone since this list is way head of itself in knowledge!) and a great

opportunity for the kids to meet other kids fighting the same disease! So is

anyone planning on going?

Lots of Love

Hi ;

First and most importantly, how is your mom doing? I hope all of you are coping

ok, especially your pregnant sisters.

Although I would like to go to the Bay Area Arth. Day next Sat., I am not sure

we will be able to make it. We will try and hopefully get there and see you!

We had some good news this week from 's reumy at UCSF, that she is in

remission now. We still have to do an MRI to make sure there is no inflammation

in her elbow remaining, and she will have to stay on her meds throughout the

rest of this year. Since her last remission was for 6 years, I know that

remission does not mean it is gone for good, for now it's nice to know the

inflammation is not in her joints.

I am sad to read the many posts of all the suffering that so many of the JRA/JIA

children have, but I want everyone also to know there can be better times ahead.

My mom is doing ok. Totally bald now but she looks super cute. She got out of

the hospital on Thursday the 16th of March and then got put back in the hospital

March 22nd with pneumonia. But she is feeling better and the pneumona is going

away but she is going to be in there until probably tuesday or wednesday we're

hoping she will stay out of the hospital for longer this time. She is doing ok

though thank you for asking. I am really hoping that you will be able to make it

to JA day its really fun! And I am so happy that is in remission!! That

is such great news!

Nope no humira yet!! Hoping soon though. I've been feeling really bad because of

the flare and all the stress is making it worse.
