Guest guest
JRA affects each child differently - I have met one person in our community whose daughter developed JRA when she was little - she outgrew it and has recently had a child. Now Hunter's dance teacher's daughter developed it in High School and it has devastated her life as an adult - she had a soft ball scholarship - JRA took that away. The way that I have learned to deal with this disease is to take it one day at time. You said that it could be worse - yes - it could be. Today Hunter went to get her methotrexate shot at the Children's Oncology Dept. (this is a weekly injection to suppress her immune system) - there was a young man there (15 years old) he was getting a spinal tap with his chemotherapy. The disease has changed our whole family - we get stronger every day. Right now you are feeling like you have no control over your son's illness - with time you and your family will take back the control with not only the medications that your son will take, but with knowledge of the disease and strength from your son - our children our fighters. I hope things go well with your visit today. Sandi Ken Hunter (7 Systemic)
