Where can I go to see if my congressman/representatives are supporting the

,

This link shows the House of Reps. sponsors as of 2/14/06

http://capwiz.com/arthritis/issues/bills/?bill=7085241

click on the SHOW SPONSORSHIP at the bottom right.

This link shows the Senate sponsors as of 2/14/06

http://capwiz.com/arthritis/issues/bills/?bill=8467126, then click

on the SHOW SPONSORSHIP at the bottom right.

If you go to the http://capwiz.com/arthritis/issues/bills you can

also see the entire list of who has and who has not sponsored the

bill, so you know who to target in your state and district.

Connie, I am sorry I did not meet you at the Summit. Its a wonderful

opportunity and I urge everyone (and I mean everyone) to get involved. I have

such

problems trying to reach my local house member. She simply will not sign so I

will keep on trying. I figure eventually she will get tired of me and sign. I

also took it upon myself to visit congressmen who are not in my district and

lucked out. One did co-sponsor!! So maybe I should stick with those outside

of my district. lol. To everyone who did make the Summit as a 36 yr vet to

this crap, I send a huge thank you.....We can make a difference!

, have you visited the local offices of these congressmen? I urge you

to try this as well. They will be on break March 20-24 (I think, someone

correct me if this is wrong) so call and schedule a visit. Take others with you

and

let your voices be heard.

There are two Massachusetts Representatives who have not signed on as

co-sponsors of the Arthritis Prevention, Control and Cure Act. I urge anyone

who is a constituent of Representative Capuano or Representative Delahunt to

email them (using the links below), or call them and ask them to co-sponsor this

bill that is vital legislation for all our children with arthritis. I visited

their offices with my 15 year old daughter when we were in Washington last week

at the Advocacy Summit, but we are not their constituents and they don't pay as

much attention to people not from their districts. Thanks and thanks to you

Donna for the links.

Thanks Donna,

I will do some checking and do that. I felt like I was at a dead end. It really

makes me mad that they aren't supporting it. If it was affecting them or their

families it would have been done a long time ago without a second thought.

Good for you for trying Donna! The more people we talk to the more the words

juvenile arthritis stick in their heads. We have to get the word out. The

Summit was a powerful experience and I look forward to next year.
