Maybe I am just so used to how we do it with the neurologist and it may not be necessary with the JRA and med's I don't know. We do not go back to see her again for three months and she has not requested any for that appointment either. I am assuming we will have more done this month with the Endocrinologist and it is not like I like to see them poke full of holes, I just wonder. I intended to ask her about it last week while in her office but it was one of the few I forgot to ask. Veri & Jaye 12 Poly
Guest guest
Sophie's rheumy requests that she have blood drawn every 6 weeks. Sometimes, she has is drawn more often if she's in a flare or if her mtx dosage has been tweaked a bit. My endocrinologist requests that I have blood drawn a week prior to each visit. If I forget or can't get there before then, they draw it the day of the visit. Guest guest
Nick has his blood drawn each tiem he has his remciade, they draw off the blood once the iv is in and before they start the meds. I then get a copy of them before we are finished. This happens every 8 weeks right now, but his remciade will be moved closer so he will be getting labs done more often now. Its pretty standard to get labs done every 6-8 weeks, especially if they are on drugs like MTX etc as liver functions need to be monitored. hugs Helen and (8,systemic) > > I am wondering if you have bloodwork done when you go to most of your appointments. Guest guest
Veri, You need to get both Dr's on the same paige. One may need bloodwork more then the other but you may be able to blend them both together. has always gotten labs every 2 months ever since he was maxed out on MTX years ago.It used to be every month in the beginning. Now it looks like every 3 months. Just be sure,I have to find out tomorrow about what I heard. Hugs Becki and 7 systemic
Guest guest
Most docs can share that info. If she really needed to know what a lab was she could always get the results from the labs he ordered too. Do you get copies of the labs that the neurologist orders? -- Lorilee ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ken 47 {PolyRA} 6 {Systemic JRA, Eczema}, Kayla 15 {Healthy Thank God} 18 {Asthma} ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------- Original message -------------- From: veristroud@... Guest guest
Madison has blood drawn at each visit which is every 3-4 months. She has been doing well so the appointments have been stretched out but lately she has been complaining of pain in her knees again so i'm sure we'll be back sooner! Good luck! Guest guest
Veri - It depends on which medicines is on. Some require more careful monitoring than others. Because of Caroline's liver we have her blood work done every 8 weeks. Guest guest
gets bloodwork done every single month. He's still on pred as well as mtx and Enbrel, so we keep careful watch on liver and kidney function. Kidney especially because he only has one (congenetal). We actually get it done at the clinic here in town, who then fax the results to his rheumy. Since your daughter already gets regular bloodwork, you should be able to get any additional tests your rheumy might want done at the same time. I once had in the ER and they wanted to do bloodwork there, so I had them add his regular tests then, so we wouldn't have to do 2 pulls in a week.
