Guest guest
Don't mean to pick on you Sue. Several others did this as well. Folks, this is the perfect example of an email that only needs to be sent to the writer of the original message. The whole list doesn't need to receive this information. At least Sue didn't include the entire original message in her reply. Thanks. Please think carefully about your responses and who really needs to see them. Everyone's mailbox will thank you. Guest guest
I have to admit, that I didn't fill out the original questionnaire in posting #1, 9Sept2001, either. In general, most of the issues related to symptoms, in the list below, are similar to mine, but, most to all of the lifestyle issues are not. One observation that does stand out though, is smoking. I grew up with smokers and I did smoke a cigar or two, most days, for 10 years, and my problems did start after that time. FWIW. regards, Ken West From: " Tami Klumpyan " <tami@...> Reply-samters Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 20:23:28 -0600 <samters > Subject: questionaire I have come up with a list of questions that relate to my life experience. I'm being honest, and letting you know all about me. Some of the questions seem a little bizzare but I needed to ask questions that related to my experience over the years. Sometimes it's the wierdest thing that we all have in common that may lead to the cure. You never know, you may see yourself in my answers. I just want to see if we as a group can come up with something. Now you know all my bad habits, but a cure is more important than my lifestyle. Yes, I smoke. I quit for 10 months and the polyps went crazy and I became so sick. Needless to say I didn't care whether I lived a long life or not and started smoking again. Pretty pathetic, I know. I'm not looking for judgement, just an answer. If you agree with doing this survey, and have more questions to add email me. I think it's important. What can it hurt? I used to be a happy go lucky person, spontaneous and fun. I play acoutic guitar, love to sit around a campfire even in cold snowy weather, and have a couple beers to relax. I want to be spontaneous again and stay up past nine without worrying if I get enough sleep to avoid a sinus headache. I'm probably getting a little too personal, but tell me you all don't feel the same way. I'm a little nervous to check my emails tomorrow, so go easy on me. After all, you only know me as an email message. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
Hi- I am new to this site but not to the condition. I have spent many hours the last few nights trying to read through all the posts since the beginning, and well, forget it, it's overwhelming! I think the idea of doing a questionaire/database is excellent, and I can help with this too- not that I know how but am willing to learn. There is a place on this site to post " Polls " and " database " so I suggest we try and incorporate those functions. I agree with Tami about wierd questions that can be pertinent- i.e. when I was reading the posts from years back about prednisone causing itching of the hands and feet- well, I can't say that I am glad to see that it happens to other people too, but you know.....! Feel free to email me with anything related and I will get my 5c worth together someday soon. Nice to meet you all. Guest guest
I also think the questionnaire idea is a good one. Maybe we can all learn something new. As far as the prednisone goes, I really think that I am allergic to it and my doctor agrees. Rob I think the idea of doing a questionaire/database is excellent, and I can help the posts from years back about prednisone causing itching of the hands and feet- well, I can't say that I am glad to see that it happens to other people too, but you know.....! Guest guest
Since I own a computer company, I'll fess up :-) If someone can get all the questions together I will see about setting them up on the Internet. I checked the database & poll functions of the user group but neither one of them will work. I will see about setting it up in an access database or html that I can make available to everyone. BTW I am still very envious of Ken being able to smell all of those good things <bg> Rob questionaire We need someone to fess up to being the computer pro in our group. If someone is willing to get this set up, then we can all email the questions we want to see on it to this person. It would take a lot of work and time. I'd offer but haven't a clue how to set it up. I would be willing to have all the questions sent to me so I can put them in subject order if you want. That would save the computer pro a little time. Thanks for sending such possitive emails. Guest guest
Rob, Glad to know you own a computer company. You may be sorry for letting us know. (Ha Ha). I will be glad to take all the questions from everyone. Please email the questions directly to me @ tami@.... Don't be afraid of sending questions that seem way off base. No one will know who sent the questions except me. My only interest is in finding a true common link that we all share other than the obvious triad links. Start sending your questions now. I've got a little time before I have to spend all my time tending to my strawberry fields. Try to get all your questions to me within the next two weeks. Guest guest
This questionaire may also help us with our own problems. When seeing the questions in writing, we may find that we do or don't have those 'problems' and just think it is due to something else. I am looking forward to the end product cause I think I can learn something about myself that I have just gotten so use to and I don't think of it as a problem. Our bodies tend to 'adjust' to things especially if it is over a long period of time and so we just get use to it. Hope I made some sense there? -- questionaire I realize that the questionaire is only asking short answer questions. When everyone fills it out and if we find a bunch of common things between us, then we can get into more detail. As Carolyn says, we need to be our own detectives. Rob is going to set it up on a web site or something like that and he'll let us know when it's ready. I sure hope you feel better. Guest guest
I know exactly what you mean. I just got done with a 6 week dose of antibiotics and I've been having stomach attacks all this week. I know antibiotics help our sinus infections but what price do we pay with the rest of our body? Sometimes I wonder what it must be like for my husband who just pops out of bed and is ready to go like he's on top of the world. I get up an extra hour earlier just so I can get all the crap out of my sinuses and feel somewhat normal. Tami questionaire I realize that the questionaire is only asking short answer questions.
