Guest guest
Hi : Ah, a kindred worry wart! It is very hard at times making the right decisions being a Mom. There are so many reasons that I don't want her to go and yes, the distance and not knowing the family or the families they may be around worries the heck out of me! I am right there with you on the paranoid part............I know I am. I also know that with three daughters I was going to be paranoid from my own experiences in childhood..........I don't trust easily. Of course, it's getting that much harder as they are now teenagers, maturing physically and developmentally and I worry, worry, worry. One reason we wanted to move from VA was our new neighbors would leer at the girls anytime they went out, even if just to get in the car. Creepy! It's hard sometimes to know what's normal thoughts and what's going over the line to paranoia! I give them freedom little by little, movies, mall, etc. Dating, oh God, what will I do then YIKES! LOL! The topic of overprotective parents probably will come up on the list. They probably all think we are anyway LOL. Thanks for your words of wisdom:) That whole incident with Aundrea and her friend is scary and brought back an awful memory with Alyssa. Someone, just like what you just stated, tried to get Alyssa in a car. Called the police and he had tried with a few other girls too, SICKO. They found him, pulled him over and his response was " I was trying to find an American girlfriend " . HELLO, you don't do that with 12 year old girls or even older ones like that! I am glad Aundrea and her friend knew what to do and ran away. Smart young ladies! No wonder we are paranoid! Take care. Patty
