THE Haidenhofer children are set to reach a new milestone next week.

n, , and Chloe - a set of non-identical quadruplets -

will start Year 1 at Coolnwynpin State School in Capalaba on Monday.

Six years ago, the quads' births made headlines in the Bayside Bulletin.

Parents Sharon and Franz Haidenhofer had been trying for four years to have

a child when they hit the jackpot after attempting IVF for the first year.

The quads were born 11 weeks early, the smallest weighing only 745 grams.

With the children now almost at school, on reflection Sharon said the last

two years had flown by but the first three years had been quite " slow " .

" I used to get two hours sleep every 24 hours, " she remembered.

" And those two hours were broken sleep at that. "

All of the children said they were excited about attending school, with

n wanting to play sports, while wants to " learn to do

everything " .

n and Chloe will be together in one class and and will

be in another (both classes are located in the same room, though).

Chloe, who has juvenile arthritis and cyclical vomiting syndrome, will

receive extra attention from the school's special education unit.

Sharon and Franz both thought the children would do well at school.

" They all get along well, " Sharon said. " They are all quite close. When they

were at preschool, they all watched out for Chloe " .

She describes as " loud and sneaky " , Chloe as " clingy, quiet and

loves singing " , n as " boisterous; a typical boy " and as " a

sporting type and a bit of a loner, he likes peace and quiet " .

But how will the parents go? Sharon said she wasn't sure.

" I think after the first week it will really sink in, " she said.
