Guest guest
I think it would be wonderful to have more kids on the site. Currently its just Aundrea and Caitlin talking but they have both mentioned how glad they are to have this site and i think it would be awesome to have more kids able to feel that way. Helen...kids list Helen, I was speaking with the director for the southwest arthritis foundation and I mentioned the new group that you started up for kids...she thought the idea was awesome and wondered if she could make the site address available to the kids associated with the foundation... I wanted to check with you first to see if this would be ok and I was wondering if we could also make the info. available to the arthritis foundation website... I know that is doing a great job moderating the site and Aundrea told me that she even put out a get to know you survey...I was just hoping that other kids that could benefit from this group could be informed of its existence. Let me know....I don't plan to give out the address unless you approve. Thanks, sonia
Guest guest
-Hi , Im sorry, I am woefully behind with my mail.... must have something to do with the time of the year!! ))) Anyhows, I think that would be ok to advertize the kids site with the AF. Im just wary of knowing that only kids join, if you know what i mean. My 1st and foremost priority is to keep this list safe for the kids. I would never forgive myself if some unsavory kind got on there and victimized the kids. I think that i would need to ask a few questions for each new kid applying. We do this on other restricted lists I moderate and this seems to scare off anyone with other motives. feel free to pass the site address on to your contact at the AF merry Christmas!! Guest guest
Ok Helen, that sounds great! With you screening the newcomers and moderating the site I think it should remain a pretty safe place. Guest guest
Hi I have been off list for a while, I was away and overwhelmed with some new responsibilities I had taken on. I have been scanning through the last few monts and spotted these references to a kids group or kids list. My daughter Mickey is 11, going on 12 soon - has had systemic jra since 3. Where can I find more information about this kids group? She is feeling particularly isolated at school lately and maybe it would help if she could interact with other kids who understand why she can't always keep up... Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I am glad to see that Mickey might be interested in the kids group. Aundrea was really excited about having some other kids to talk to but so far there isn't much action in re to posting. I think Aundrea must have fear of her arthritis getting bad again. She recently came off mtx and she frequently mentions how she never wants the shots again...Mainly due to the fact that she often suffered side effects of vomiting, and stomach cramps. Anyway, I think it would really do some of our kids good to be able to share with each other. You can send helen an email off-list with Mickey's email that she will be using to access the kids group. Helen will then add her name and she can begin posting. is moderating the group and making sure that it stays a safe place as well as generating topics of discussion for the kids. Guest guest
-Hi Lynn, I went ahead and approved your request. If you want to create a separate email account for Mickey at a later date, just let me know and I can deactivate the one you are using now and activate the new one. I hope the list will prove helpful for mickey and all the kids on there. I see the activity is pretty slow, hopefully the more kids that join the more " chatty " it will become. hugs Helen and (8,systemic) -- In , " sonia1md " <sonia1md@y...> wrote: > > Hi Lynn, > > I am glad to see that Mickey might be interested in the kids group. > Aundrea was really excited about having some other kids to talk to > but so far there isn't much action in re to posting. > > I think Aundrea must have fear of her arthritis getting bad again. > She recently came off mtx and she frequently mentions how she never > wants the shots again...Mainly due to the fact that she often > suffered side effects of vomiting, and stomach cramps.
