Guest guest
Haven't written in a while so I thought I would quickly give an update on Lexi. She's been on Enbrel now for about 6 months or so, and Dr. Hollister has upped it from .5 to .75 to 1 mL now. She still complains a few times a week that her legs or knees hurt, but for the most part the doc said that her swelling in her knees and ankles was almost gone at her visit in Oct. When we went back in the beginning of December, there was a little bit more swelling in her one knee and ankle, but he upped the dose to the 1 mL. She's been OK, but last night she must have been flaring up because her one knee got much worse over about an hour, to the point that she couldn't put any weight on it and was crying that it hurt. For the first time EVER, her knee was red, swollen a bit, and hot right under the kneecap. Not sure what this is about, but I'll be calling the doc again today to find out if he needs to see her again soon or if he just wants to keep an eye on it. I know flare ups are common, but do they just seem to come out of no where and pretty suddenly? She seems to be acting fine this morning, and the swelling is much better, but I'm wondering what she will look like tonight again after being on it all day. Thanks! mom to Lexi, 4, pauci JRA ( on Enbrel and Naproxyn - still!)
