Guest guest
, I went to apply for supplemental life and disability insurance just recently . The agent told me I would be better off waiting a year or so until I had lost more weight and then for sure the policy would be approved. It doesnt make sense they would turn you down when you are much healthier. Pat Iurato
Guest guest
I am very interested in this, also. I would like to add more on to the policy at my work. Maybe we have to wait a certain amount of time or something? I am 53 and healthy. Got life insurance a year before my MGB with no problem. I was turned down for the LTC insurance because of WLS. They said to try again in 2 years (when the rates will be higher). Joni > > > >
Guest guest
I'm on a group plan, but others on the list have reported a 5-year post-op exclusion. Sorry! Best thing to do is to ask the insurance agent before completing a formal application. Guest guest
I only know that it causes a problem getting health insurance, so suspect it might be the same for life insurance. Let us all know when you find out. Pat Life Insurance HELP, Please!! I never post anymore, but hoping someone has an answer for me ... has anyone applied for life insurance since having the MGB, and if so, were you approved??? Hubby and I are looking for a new policy, and I am scared that they will deny me, even though I probably would've paid OUT THE NOSE before for being " morbidly obese " . I hate that word. PLEASE, please let me know. I am doing well, now wearing a size large shirt and 12 or 14 pants. 25 pounds to go. Laurel Hoenshel in Tampa,FL MGB 3/14/01 277/181/150??? Guest guest
It's nearly impossible to get life insurance for those of us with hepatitis c. IF you can get it at all, it will cost an arm and a leg.

Guest guest
As an agent in the insurances agency I know how difficult it is to get life insurance with medical problems. If I were you I would try to get a policy with Jefferson Pilot. Where are you located in Texas? I've never been hospitalized and have it very well under control. They make their decisions and I'll do my business elsewhere. Has anyone had any success getting a reasonable rate on life insurance despite the asthma? If so I'd very much appreciate finding out what company you use. Guest guest
I also have insurance industry experience. Asthma is a now a leading cause of death especially among young people so the insurance companies will often not even cover you or at best charge exorbitant premiums. This is a big problem. Group coverages which are portable can be had with some ingenuity-even if you don't work for a big company. Guest guest
Has anyone out there been turned down for life insurance? We just got declined for insurance because of my seizures. The last seizure I had was two years ago, when I went off of my medication. I have since gone back on the meds, and haven't had a seizure since. Has anyone been able to reverse the company's decision by convincing the insurance company that your seizures are well-managed by medication and therefore you don't pose that much of a risk? Many thanks! Devine
