Hi all,

I don't think I have posted yet but have been reading the posts since

my daughter had what they think was a first seizure. We got an EEG

which showed spikes on the right side and slowing on the left side. (I

have no idea what that means) but the dr. said it indicates she may

have another one and he would recommend putting her on medication.

I think it was amitripline (?).

She is a happy, healthy 10 year old whose only other issue has been

migraines for about two years. They haven't been as recent as last

school year and don't affect her school day. Usually some tyenol or an

ice pack seems to do the trick.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks so much.

I noticed you mentioned that your daughter has had migraines. I have

recently been made aware MSG with seizure, migraines, etc. The list

goes on what MSG does to the body. Go to MSGmyth.com or just google

MSG seizures or migraines. You will be entered into a whole new world

of what we are unkowingly putting into our bodies. Good Luck.

Avoid the meds!! It seems she is not being impaired from them, sounds

like possibly petites! Try magnesium, it is a natural calming mineral

and it has done wonders for our son's seizures. It well also helped

those with migraines!! Masking the symptoms with meds wont find the

underlying cause of the migraines, although it is possible that if

she is having seizures, this well cause headaches also. Our son had

grand mals/complex seizures. His eeg showed normal and one showed

activity! Try to focus on natural supplementing, avoiding proccessed

foods/vaccines, work on intestinal health/viral healing, etc. Our son

has been seizure free for almost a year due to implementing these

steps and not medicating. Beings he did have grands, his neuro did

give us a rectal as needed med for the bad seizures, but he has not

had to use in a long time due to natural methods. Avoid the

tylenol/this causes so many medical underlying issues. Try aloe vera

juice. It is a natural pain reliever/anti inflammatory and a very

good healing supplement!! Virus's are also a big seizure trigger

along with toxins/chemicals. Has she had ct/mri of her brain befor

they determined she needed meds. If there is nothing showing pyshical

issue's such as damage, cysts etc. then focus on viral and gi

healing!! This is what has worked for our son!! Jennie<><

Hi,

" What they think was a first seizure? " What does this mean? Do you know

what type? How often are they? If they are few and far betwen I agree to try the

alternatives first. My son developed more and worse seizures from meds.

Also, they cannot diagnose epilepsy until there are 2

seizures. What's the harm in waiting? EEG's do not

diagnos epilepsy. If the only reason the dr. is

giving is because your child " may " have another, I

would wait to be sure. Sometimes children have spike

fevers that cause seizures as well.

MSG, that stuff is horrible and in so many foods(even vaccines:).

Organic seems the safest route to go! I discovered about 20yrs ago

that aspartame was giving me headaches! It is so sad the FDA approves

all these toxins/chemicals but wont approve known cancer cures!

On the subject of aspartame, I realized much too late that when my son

ingested it, he subsequently went into extremely severe seizures. I made a log

of everything he was ingesting, and came to realize the seizures occurred

immediately after ingesting the aspartame. This excitotoxin lowers the seizure

threshold. But I imagine the subject has been well-discussed in this forum at

some point. My son was more violently ill than ever because of aspartame . . .
