I've been thinking about this much of the day, in between dealing with the not

so

wonderful yeast-die-off rages of my 5 yrs old son (big sigh......) Hoping that's

it or we're

suddenly returning to some old behaviors. , I think you bring up some

good

points... I truly wish there were more dollars and time to research all this. I

suspect with

the success bio-medical intervention has seen, time and dollars are going in

that

direction. My thought on the Inuits (and I also don't know much) is that as a

group I

suspect they rely on very natural resources and medicinally, perhaps rely on

ancient

remedies. This was something else referenced at the conference (and sorry to

keep

referring to this but it was soooo insightful...highly recommend it....I met

soooo many

wonderful parents and learned a ton).. that many older cultures relied on herbal

remedies,

including things like natural anti-virals, anti-fungals, etc.. This has

benefitted them... Plus

the diet was better. Current day Inuits - I'd guess, like the Amish community,

have a

lesser contaminated environment and probably eat a whole lot better than the

average

person - even when you factor in the quantity of fish. In addition to our world

becoming

more polluted , our diet in general has become atrocious.. I realize you've

mentioned a

totally organic diet and I applaud you.. I'm ashamed to admit that I knew little

of all this til

my children came into our lives. This is why I have such strong feelings - its

not

something they teach you in medical school or nursing school....Our mainstream

docs,

unless they've educated themselves, really dont have a clue. For many of us

parents of

autistic children, we too were vaccinated with immunizations containing

Thimerosol. The

one big difference was the huge time span between them (at least allowing the

body to get

a tiny break and attempt to rid itself of the poison) and the number.

Additionally the world

was a much less toxic place as compared to today. A friend and I were talking

about this

(and realize most of you dont do some of this) but differences between then and

now: The

moment the numbers began creeping up was when the Hep B was introduced at

birth...not

only poisoning the child's body with lethal substances, but at the same time,

de-activating

to an extent, the mechanism needed to excrete the same poison. I completely

agree with

you re: the state of the world and toxic conditions contributing to this

epidemic. If you do

a Google search for " Shattock " perhaps you'll find other research from him

.... As so

many said (yes at the conference again...it was just sooo nice to be with

like-minded

people :) none of us asked for this diagnosis of autism/spectrum

disorders...noone wants

to watch their child suffer...but in my attempt to be optimistic I have to

wonder - if all of

us use our resources and ask important questions and motivate those doing the

important research - I soo hope we'll help not only to answer some important

questions

re: autism, but also provide a wake-up call to the world that the world we're

living in is

killing us...

I don't know many details of the Inuit study, but I do know that

their health is suffering. Breast milk from Inuit women has the

highest levels of toxins in all of Canada--mostly because of their

high fish diet. However, some people feel that their very high

levels of omega 3's have protected them from the worst effects of

this toxicity. But who knows how long that can last? Apparently

ear infections in Inuit children are rampant. Unfortunately, you

will not find much traditional culture left in most Inuit

communities so start factoring in antibiotics and a poor SAD for

most young Inuit.

I believe that for many of our ASD kids a number of factors had to

converge in order that autism occur. For other people, others

problems will arise, perhaps later in life, perhaps earlier, in the

form of learning disabilities, etc. For others still, they may not

suffer at all, but pass on these silent problems to their children.

I'm afraid that is my situation. I am healthy beyond belief.

Little sleep, lots of stress, neglect myself and still function very

well. Part of my health my be attributed to the fact that I grew up

almost organic, never had antibiotics until I was almost an adult,

and didn't receive a toxic burden from my mother. But another part

of my health might be the result of passing my toxic burden (lead,

for example) on to my own children.

I'm afraid that even if there are no autistic Inuit children, damage

is still being done. They may just be slightly behind because their

toxic cups aren't quite as full as those of our children.

Sorry to be so depressing.

My son got mercury

laden vaccines. I received mercury

laden vaccines while pregnant and nursing. My son did NOT receive the MMR.
