Guest guest
Hi welcome to the group. I'm sure others will chime in here, and perhaps explain better than I...but here's my take. This was discussed quite a bit at the DAN conference and helped to cement things for me. I believe the feeling amongst the researchers and bio-med docs out there is that vaccines/and-or the mercury didnt cause autism BUT that the mercury or in the case of the MMR - having three viruses in one vaccine....was a catalyst that thru children with a *pre-disposition* over the edge. That *predisposition* often being a family history of auto-immune disorders, etc.. There are places in the world where children's vaccines have not contained Thimerosol and yet there is still autism - not at epidemic proportions like here...so this continues to be researched. I believe it was Shattock who really advocated that a study be done here in the US that focuses on children like yours and within the Amish community who have never been vaccinated...are there other common threads amongst these children/their family histories? Another thing I found quite interesting and hadnt given as much thought to is the environmental piece. One speaker (and cant remember who this was) showed a series of slides with an overlay, depicting first, states with heavy environmetal toxic loads, and second the overlay of highest rates in state of autism. The overlays were almost identical. My dd's recent Metametrix labs came back with her twice the limit for lead - I was horrified. We're extremely vigilant as she does still put a ton in her mouth. I've also since tested just about everything at home and we can't find the source.. She has an aide at private preschool who provides a chewy tube if she needs one at school..Primary suspects now are soil and water either here or school. My son was high - not nearly as high as she but higher than he should be, so there's a common thread (he doesnt mouth things). As our world becomes more toxic and more individuals out there are developing auto-imnmune disorders, I believe the feeling is that a subset of the population thru other triggers, will develop autism (someone out there clarify if I'm botching this....someone else maybe able to say this more clearly than I am). My personal feelling about mercury in vaccines - whether or not it even played a role in the autism epidemic (I believe it did)..is this (and this is what I say to skeptical physicians): Put the mercury cause-effect argument aside and simply look at the science....we pumped hugely toxic loads into newborn infants and babies with barely any immune function and immature liver....when you look at safe (and I dont believe there is a " safe " ) EPA levels of mercury and then what many of our children got in vaccinations - it's mind blowing to think this was ever allowed. Nearly a generation of kids were poisoned - the numbers show that and the *numbers* dont take into consideration half-lives, the individual's capacity to excrete, etc.. so there was also a cumulative effect. Again, whether mercury was the *cause* (and I do believe it was a catalyst)....I'm happy to put aside the argument and talk science/math.....a generation of kids was poisoned as far as I'm concerned...and that's what I'm attempting to focus on with bio-med...getting my kids well again, first and foremost. Guest guest
I just realized I spelled amish wrong in my post. Hello . This is a question that will likely not be answered overnight... meaning, how did your unvaccinated child end up with autism. I certainly would agree it wasn't caused by child vaccinations in this case. And the mercury debate will go on for some time it seems, and I'm not a " it's all about mercury " person, but I do strongly believe there are toxins involved with most of our kids, and mercury is a neurotoxin (no one seems to argue otherwise), and has caused damage in a goodly amount of our kids and in my opinion should have never been in vaccines. Being an owner of a school and seeing NT kids and effected kids, and the vaccine records of both, I'm convinced that mercury (and live viruses and/or other nasty stuff) in vaccines is a cause (a cause) of the damage we see in a good amount of these kids. If your child was not vaccinated, then it's obvious that wasn't the trigger for your child. My cousin was born with autism and it seems to be from his mother having measles during pregnancy (47 years ago). Just to be clear, I'm not absolute about anything regarding causes of autism. There are too many environmetal issues to be able to say any one thing causes ALL autism. Additionally, there are many different types of autism. I talk about children with autism as looking like fingerprints. From afar they all look the same, but up close each one is unique as is their specific metabolic, genetic, and environmental puzzle that caused their particular autism. I don't know enough about your family or the Inuits to speak intelligently about either and, in reality, our group is primarily about the healing of the kids, although... it's sometimes hard to talk about the kids, the issues, the apparent causes (for at least some, possibly a majority) and not talk about politics and our beliefs of how our child became effected. So, for the purposes of this healing group, if you feel that my beliefs about mercury being an issue for many (not all) of our children, than I hope that doesn't stop you from remaining open minded about the work being done here. It's certainly not meant to alienate anyone. We are all here for the same reason, and that is to help our children. - Stan > There aren't a whole lot of unvaccinated autistic children. Guest guest
Just a thought, I am not well educated about the Inuits, but I know the traditional Inuits eat a lot of meat and little plant products. Thus, they eat an anti-yeast type diet. On top of that, do they use antibiotics like they do here? Is this saving them from autism? Guest guest
I too consider the vaccines to be poison -- that's why I passed with all of my kids. I do wish someone would conduct a study on unvaccinated kids with autism -- it would be enlightening, as my son still has metal poisoning and I suspect viral issues (his first regression came after the coxsackie virus). I had amalgams in my mouth from 1989-1992 (3 years). They were removed by an excellent biological dentist who knew what he was doing. I started a detoxing lifestyle in 1991, and my son was born in 2001. He is no less severe than many vaccinated kids. Who would be likely to start such a study? - BodegaLee <bodegalee@...> wrote: Hi welcome to the group. I'm sure others will chime in here, and perhaps explain better than I...but here's my take. Guest guest
I'm really glad that we are able to keep calm, open minded and focused on our kids recovery during such a potentially heated topic. I think it says a lot about the quality of people we have in this group. - Stan > > There aren't a whole lot of unvaccinated autistic children. Guest guest
, Interesting you mention coxsackie. Did you happen to see my post two weeks ago on how I was able to convince Dr. Buie to prescribe Valtrex to my son?? My son had several cases (6 or 7) of “coxsackie”, the physician’s assistant made sure I looked down his throat to see the white bumps. In researching this fall I saw pictures of cold sores of the throat and realized the symptoms of all of the times he had the virus correlated with cold sores virus more than coxsackie. It is often misdiagnosed as coxsackie. Anyway, I convinced Dr. Buie that chronic cold sores of the throat caused acid reflux and gut issues, giving him the “in” to prescribe it. I started him on Valtrex and have had immediate viral reactions mixed with some progression. My son’s regression definetly was vaccination induced, 1st the MMR, and then the mercury containing 18 month vaccs. But every time he got one of the “coxsackie like” viruses he regressed further. Guest guest
Hi , I really just want to reach out and offer a word from someone in the same boat. Our boy is non-vax'd too, but still is on the spectrum. My kids were extra careful when my daughter was pregnant, taking every possible precaution to have a healthy baby. He may not have obtained his metal load from a vaccine, but he most certainly got it from somewhere. Not knowing where he got it is as maddening to us as it is for you! But, the biomedical interventions are helping slowly but surely to recover him, and that is everything. In my opinion, our environment is so polluted, no real safe place exists. Factory waste, auto exhaust, the effects of war, all add up to a world that is loaded with poisons. One nation may ban DDT, another pass regulations on mercury and another ban leaded gasoline, but like a kid peeing in the shallow end of the pool, sooner or later, it's everywhere. I have so much gratitude to the DAN, I can't tell you. I had lost all hope in Western medicine. I thought that the medical community had become a greedy, egotistical group of big pharma whores. Little did I know that behind the scenes were doctors, researchers, therapists, pharmacists and families, dedicated to recovering our kids, some putting their careers, reputations and more on the line. I've decided to study and learn as much as I can to help my grandson now, and look forward to the future. Whatever the cause, one thing is clear: the future is brighter than it has ever been, thanks to the courage, integrity, love and work of the members of our greater community. Guest guest
Stan, You've got me all wrong -- I just want people to have the facts straight. There is this belief that there is no such thing as an unvaccinated child with autism & it's unfounded. When I have posted to other groups that my child is unvaccinated, I am usually told that he got the Hep B in the hospital without my knowledge (sorry, he was born at home with a mid-wife). I just want science to move forward, & not be stuck in the vaccine debate. No doubt, vaccines are an insult to the body, but for those of you who think your children would not have autism if they had not received shots -- come to my house and meet . He was also raised on organics. I have a feeling that 1 unvaccinated child out of 166 unvaccinated children would still be found to have autism, probably related to the chemical pond we all live in. - Stan Kurtz <kurtzstan@...> wrote: I just realized I spelled amish wrong in my post. Hello . This is a question that will likely not be answered overnight... meaning, how did your unvaccinated child end up with autism. I certainly would agree it wasn't caused by child vaccinations in this case. And the mercury debate will go on for some time it seems, and I'm not a "it's all about mercury" person, but I do strongly believe there are toxins involved with most of our kids, and mercury is a neurotoxin (no one seems to argue otherwise), and has caused damage in a goodly amount of our kids and in my opinion should have never been in vaccines. From afar they all look the same, but up close each one is unique as is their specific metabolic, genetic, and environmental puzzle that caused their particular autism.I don't know enough about your family or the Inuits to speak intelligently about either and, in reality, our group is primarily about the healing of the kids, although... it's sometimes hard to talk about the kids, the issues, the apparent causes (for at least some, possibly a majority) and not talk about politics and our beliefs of how our child became effected. So, for the purposes of this healing group, if you feel that my beliefs about mercury being an issue for many (not all) of our children, than I hope that doesn't stop you from remaining open minded about the work being done here. It's certainly not meant to alienate anyone. We are all here for the same reason, and that is to help our children.- Stan> There aren't a whole lot of unvaccinated autistic children. Guest guest
Hi almost all the lectures I believe were videotaped - right Stan? I know in LA last Fall, there were a few where the power went out or something, and not all were taped. Anyway, most - maybe all from Washington have been taped and should be on ARI's website within the next few months. Stan any idea exactly when? You have to sign up to become a member and provide your basic info but then can download the lectures at no cost... They're really great. Here's site..you can check out last Fall's presentations now as they're mostly there: https://www.autismwebsite.com/ari/index.htm Leigh > One > speaker (and cant remember who this was) showed a series of slides with an overlay, > depicting first, states with heavy environmetal toxic loads, and second the overlay of > highest rates in state of autism. Guest guest
I actually know next to nothing about th Inuits! It just so happens that someone on another group posted the article right before the amish/no autism thought was posted here, so I brought it up. A friend of mine has pointed out to me the poor logic behind the mercury autism link that goes back to the original group of patients being diagnosed with autism back in the 40s co-inciding with the indroduction of vaccines. What my friend pointed out was that mercury was regularly used as an antibiotic long before vaccines were introduced -- yet no autism. Perhaps it is the combo of a virus and a metal. The virus damages the immune system or even the genetic material, making the person susceptible to metals. If that's the case, taking out the mercury will not eliminate autism, because you are still injecting a virus and the child will still have exposure to heavy metals (environmental). Even if you do not inject a person with a virus, they will get one somehow & they will then be exposed to metals. What to do? -- I do not know. - kaimarisa <kaimarisa@...> wrote: Just a thought,I am not well educated about the Inuits, but I know the traditional Inuits eat a lot of meat and little plant products. Guest guest
I've been thinking about this much of the day, in between dealing with the not so wonderful yeast-die-off rages of my 5 yrs old son (big sigh......) Hoping that's it or we're suddenly returning to some old behaviors. , I think you bring up some good points... I truly wish there were more dollars and time to research all this. I suspect with the success bio-medical intervention has seen, time and dollars are going in that direction. My thought on the Inuits (and I also don't know much) is that as a group I suspect they rely on very natural resources and medicinally, perhaps rely on ancient remedies. This was something else referenced at the conference (and sorry to keep referring to this but it was soooo insightful...highly recommend it....I met soooo many wonderful parents and learned a ton).. that many older cultures relied on herbal remedies, including things like natural anti-virals, anti-fungals, etc.. This has benefitted them... Plus the diet was better. Current day Inuits - I'd guess, like the Amish community, have a lesser contaminated environment and probably eat a whole lot better than the average person - even when you factor in the quantity of fish. In addition to our world becoming more polluted , our diet in general has become atrocious.. I realize you've mentioned a totally organic diet and I applaud you.. I'm ashamed to admit that I knew little of all this til my children came into our lives. This is why I have such strong feelings - its not something they teach you in medical school or nursing school....Our mainstream docs, unless they've educated themselves, really dont have a clue. For many of us parents of autistic children, we too were vaccinated with immunizations containing Thimerosol. The one big difference was the huge time span between them (at least allowing the body to get a tiny break and attempt to rid itself of the poison) and the number. Additionally the world was a much less toxic place as compared to today. A friend and I were talking about this (and realize most of you dont do some of this) but differences between then and now: The moment the numbers began creeping up was when the Hep B was introduced at birth...not only poisoning the child's body with lethal substances, but at the same time, de-activating to an extent, the mechanism needed to excrete the same poison. I completely agree with you re: the state of the world and toxic conditions contributing to this epidemic. If you do a Google search for " Shattock " perhaps you'll find other research from him .... As so many said (yes at the conference again...it was just sooo nice to be with like-minded people none of us asked for this diagnosis of autism/spectrum disorders...noone wants to watch their child suffer...but in my attempt to be optimistic I have to wonder - if all of us use our resources and ask important questions and motivate those doing the important research - I soo hope we'll help not only to answer some important questions re: autism, but also provide a wake-up call to the world that the world we're living in is killing us...
