Time to fluoridate San Diego's water

The residents of San Diego are being deprived of one of the 20th century's

" ten greatest health achievements " according to a list compiled by the Centers

for Disease Control and Prevention. Few are aware that San Diego is the

largest city in the United States that does not provide fluoridated water for

its

citizens. While the focus of our mayoral campaign has been on fiscal

matters, most of us are going to continue living in San Diego irrespective of

the

city's bond rating or how many City Council members are in jail. Therefore

there should be some discussion dedicated to improving the health of our

population, and water fluoridation is the largest and most cost effective

health

benefit readily available to the city
