Guest guest
What are the rules and/or policy on physician attendance during HBOT? It seems like this was argued some time ago and settled with an agreement/understanding that a physician did not have to be in attendance for Medicare and/or other third party reimbursement. I'm asking because it looks like a physician must be in attendance for reimbursement by Georgia Medicaid. This stipulation consequently has resulted in a minimal Medicaid coverage of HBOT in Georgia (which is probably the goal), and even then the doctor where we'd taken Jimmy before (Dr Glenn Goodhart) would only treat Medicaid patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Next, I learned Dr Goodhart is no longer practicing Hyperbaric Medicine. I need to get the specifics on the physician attendance requirements because Georgia Medicaid has finally agreed to pay for HBOT for Jimmy, according to statements last week from the attorney representing Georgia Medicaid.
