Sodium diuretic effect

Dear Bee,

In your article ‘how to successfully overcome Candida’  you say:

‘Do not use sodium ascorbate, since it contains calcium and magnesium, or

possibly baking soda. If there is any calcium and magnesium in your vitamin C

you won't be able to regulate taking the correct amounts of calcium and

magnesium. Baking soda is high in sodium which is diuretic, meaning it makes the

body get rid of water and minerals along with it.’

At the other hand you recommend uptaking at least one spoon of salt a day, which

also contains sodium as NaCl.

Would this not cause the same diuretic effect as baking soda?

Thank you

+++Hi there,

Welcome to our group. What is your name please?

Baking soda contains only sodium, while good ocean sea salt I recommend contains

sodium plus chloride (together they are salt), which are 2 of the 7

macrominerals required in larger amounts daily. Ocean sea salt also contains 82

other minerals, including trace minerals. So it is not diuretic like baking soda

is, and it is necessary for all functions throughout the body.

That's why good ocean sea salt is so important for health - it is exactly the

same as the fluids in the body like your tears - see these articles to

understand:

Dear Bee,

My name is Dobrusia.

Please note that both Nacl and NaHCo3 are salts containing same g/mol amount of

sodium per compound.Also both shows diuretic effect due to increase of sodium

level, however sodium bicarbonate addiditonaly alkalize body pH (HCO3- + HOH->

H2CO3 + OH-),which is regarded by some scientis as a benefitaial for a human

body.

However I fully I agree with you with regards to ocean salt healthy properties.

Kind regards,

Dobrusia

+++Hi Dobrusia,

Ocean sea salt is amazingly healthy!

However the acidity/alkalinity theory is totally false - see these articles to

understand why:
