> I have been taking mega halibut fish liver oil capsules for my vitamin A. I

am thinking about switching over to cod liver oil, since it contains D and omega

3 fatty acids as well as A. (I tried CLO when I first started the program but

had a lot of gas and belching so at that time decided to go with the other.) I

went back and read your recommendations regarding A, D, and omega 3 and the

various options for getting these three. One question I have is why the

recommendation about taking one day off a month. Does this apply to taking cod

liver oil or just to taking the other forms of A?

+++Hi . You are advised to stop taking all supplements one day each month

to allow time for your body to adjust itself as it sees fit, which applies to

cod liver oil too.

I also went back and looked at the Weston Price website and saw that they

recommend taking 10,000 IU of vitamin A in the form of cod liver oil and that

the brands they recommend are different from the ones you recommend.

Specifically, they recommend high-vitamin CLO - the fermented variety. Could

you explain again why you recommend what you do - both dosage and brand/variety?

+++This has been discussed many times so please search for the messages re:

fermented cod liver oil.

If my recommendations were harmful or didn't work, people on my program wouldn't

be getting the successes they do, and I would be unhealthy too.
