Nick also had ashtma as a baby, DX at 12 months, but the last few years hes been doing better, dare I say cured?? ot at least he seems to have outgrown it. Now allergies, he never had any pre-JRA, but now hes allergic to penicillin and has had unexplained hives. Guest guest
Aundrea also had asthma as an infant. She had to have breathing treatments several times a day. She was also hospitalized when she was around 9 months for fevers of unknown origin. She had them for several months and noone ever could determine why. She has outgrown the asthma so we are thankful for that! (drea 9 systemic)-- In , " hburger64 " <hburger64@h...> wrote: > > Funny the number of kids with both these and JRA.. Guest guest
> > Has anyone found iodine supplementation to help with allergy or asthma > problems? > > Skipper > Skipper, We have not seen improvement in allergies or asthma from Iodine supplementation. On the other hand extra selenium, sulfur, zinc, and silver in a liquid formula work exceptionally well. Rick Wagner
Guest guest
>From: <kennio@...> >A lot a data links magnesium deficiency and asthma also. I know. But my wife had asthma until she went on thyroid medication. I was kind of wondering if there was a link to the iodine, or if it was simply the thyroid hormone that made her better. I will say, I think the reason she got asthma was because she had a severe allergic reaction to car exhaust and had to go to the ER. The next day she went to the family doc and he put her on Seldane. That was terrible (known not only for being withdrawn because it killed to many people in the USA but also for terrible hormone problems) so he moved her to Claritin. Shortly afterward, she developed asthma. Some drugs induce asthma. Ibuprofin, Tylenol, and Aspirin are all known to induce athma. Claritin's side effects include " brochospasm and dyspnea " which sounds are lot like asthma. so I have a suspicion it was the allergy meds that cause the asthma, and I doubt that's uncommon. It seems like a natural progression from allergies to asthma so no one is concerned that shortly after someone starts Claritin for severe allergies that they suddenly have asthma. Of course, even if you take the pain killers mentioned above and get asthma, the chances of your doctor figuring out the cause or even mentioning it to you are pretty slim. Asthma treatment is hundreds of dollars per month for the medial establisment. Skipper _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find. Guest guest
I am in the same boat myself. I get allergic rhinitis in rainy windy season. Nights are the worst and I had to rush to ER two times. The ENT specialist prescribed cortisol, anti-histamic and an antibiotic. I took them for few days and stopped. I have I feel cured my above problem by improving my diet. I take enough of animal protein, no wheat gluten, no milk casein, plenty of fish oil, minerals, B complex and C, one multivitamin with minerals. To keep away allergies, I rotate my diet in 5-day cycles: Day 1 is for eggs all meals, day 2 is chicken all day, day 3 is fish all day, day 4 is mutton all day, day 5 is my vegetarian day. I take extremely low salt and keep my blood pressure thereby normal. So I have to take iodine daily and selenium once a month. I also know that sublingual heparin in low dose can pre-empt our reaction to exhaust fumes, but I don't need it. If for some reason I sneeze (and that is now rare and limited to few minutes) then I take 2 grams of niacin and 2 gms of ascorbic acid. I feel I am free from my allergy and asthma.
