Guest guest
Hey , you need to start at your local AF chapter and ask if they have scholarships. If you get nowhere there you need to inquire with national and I would recommend you start at national by talking to Bitner. kbitner@... Good luck! Hugs and smiles! Guest guest
, Contact your local AF and if that fails call Atlanta. They aren't easy to come by so the sooner you apply the better. Our last years deadline was April 20th. We got a $2500 scholorship last year for three to go to SanDiego. We saved them $500 becuase we needed airfair for 4 and had to pay for 's sister to go so I found cheaper tickets. Give us an e-mail addy for your chapter so we can advocate for you. You realy deserve it and you would have a blast. Guest guest
Helen, The Jottings came out this week...with really nothing in it...but it did have the family scholarship applications in it. They said it would be worth 500.00/family. See what happens. I know last year I told them we couldn't go unless I could find FF space. The Conference would not charge me...and I agreed to return our scholarship money should we not go. As it ended up, I found the space and went. It was a great time, and really a special time for our family. Guest guest
Yes, but do you know that weekend I believe is mothers day weekend, opening weekend of fishing. So if you were going to even try to get someone extra in the meeting...good luck. I just wish someone would really look at the calendar when they do these things. And, I know it won't fit everyone's schedule...but just a bit of common sense sometimes is lacking. and Allie (8 poly) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of hburger64 Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2005 11:30 AM Subject: Re: AJAO -leslie... yes I got my jottings last week and will apply for the scholarship once I talk to Dan and decide if im going to try and go. Guest guest
I am planning to be there, although I most likely will not be staying at the conference hotel due to lack of funds. I have been checking other hotels and it seems I may have waited to long because what rooms are not sold out have also increased at other proerties which tells me other folks may have had the same idea. Where there is a will I will find a way and I am very hopeful I will be there! Hugs to all! Donna
Guest guest
Donna, Don't loose hope, because sometimes hotels have room blocks for other groups, and they don't fill out...so close to the event there are rooms available. Keep that in mind when looking. and Allie (8poly) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of faces1999@... Guest guest
Summer, I used to live in the Boston area for quite a while and summered a lot in RI. Boston is a great place to visit, if you have the patience to deal with the traffic! There is so much history there and a beautiful mix of new and old put together in a very tasteful way. You can do the trolley tour or the duck tour or USSConstitution tour, walk the Freedom Trail and so many things. On the other hand, for a more laid back approach, you can go to Newport RI, have fun on the beach and tour a whole bunch of amazing mansions. These are summer cottages (mansions) that took years to build and cost millions of dollars (way back when). It is very hard to imagine the wealth it took in that day and age. " The Breakers " is the most famous one that was built by the Vanderbilt's. There are a million things to do all around RI and MA.
