Robbin,

You are forgetting JRA is totaly differant from RA.Once you have JRA you are

always labeled as JRA wheather you are 4 or 40.Only exception to the rule is

RF positive poly JRA which is most like RA at an early age.

,Donna,Tree and Rusty are all adults and still have JRA.You don't just

switch at a certain age.

Even though the test is a simple one they may realy want only consenting

adults with JRA.

Hopefuly though they will change the criteria to include children with JRA.

Hugs

Becki and 6 systemic

I am 20 and still considered to have JRA and JAS. It never changes to just

RA. Its always going to be JRA or JAS because it is when the onset happened

and the two diseases do differ. So even if you 4 or 40 and you were

diagnosed with JRA and it never went away its JRA.. now if your had JRA as a

child it

went into remission and then in adult you develop the symptoms its then RA..

its weird i know.. but thats the case

Michele,

I was just as confused as you are. I was told this a while back on the

JRA. I had always thought when you was diagnosed with JRA that's what you had no

matter what. I am checking into the differences today.

still is so I am not sure about this JRA survivor stuff? any other adults with

Hugs and smiles!

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. But we were told that JRA is

just that and that RA is different. Now I'm confused! LOL Just because

you turn 18 does not mean you have RA,that is what I always thought. I

am not sure why the university would think otherwise, unless I have

wrong info all this time. Going to have to research a bit, Thanks,

Michele

UCSF Study Talked with Joanne/All READ

Hi All,

I spoke with Joanne at UCSF. I was asking her so many questions that

I

think I got her thinking about what JRA meant. JRA means Juvenile those

18 and

under. JRA Survivors are over 18 since being of this age your not

Juvenile

anymore. So it turn's to RA. But is also tagged as JRA Survivor. Don't

give up on

the JRA Study just yet though I got Joanne thinking lololol. She told me

about

how to get one started so I will email you back with that.

Now for those of you that are Adult's now and had JRA as a child and

you

have RA now. PLEASE take this Study. Call the number.

Joanne said, This study is just a swab of the mouth. This will

include the

one with JRA/RA, Parent's of this person and Sibling's of this person. I

asked about Kid's who have a parent with JRA/RA and she said not at this

time.

Let's get this Study going now. So we can give these little trooper's

something.

I know many on this list are JRA Survivors/RA. Here is another web site

those

with kid's with JRA can keep a eye on. Just in case any Study's come

out.

www.aarda.org

Y'all have a great day

Robbin
