I am beyond happy that Enbrel seems to be helping Nick. He deserves to be

feeling great!! Nick's success is a great thing, because for all who are

struggling to find some relief it proves its out there. One day that right

combination will be found for all of us with JRA, but for now its nice to hear

those sucess stories!

Lots of Love

Helen.. has been doing great on the enbrel to up until now. Her rheumy

had stretched the doses out so we were going two weeks between them. It's a

wonderful drug that really helps. You never have to hesitate to share good news

with me.. I love the fact that Nick is doing so well.. hugs... Emilie

I'm Loving Enbrel....

I hope you all dont mind, but i just have to share how wonderful

Nick seems to be doing since starting the Enbrel.

Hes now had 5 doses and is doing great, hes not complained of pain

for a week, his eyes are bright, theres a spring to his step and a

sparkle in his eye. Hes laughing more than ive seen in awhile. he

wakes with a smile and seems to get out of bed much faster and

easier.

Of course they are off school, so we will see what happens when its

time to get up on a schdeule and out the door by a certain time.

I was a little hesitant to share this good news with so many of the

dear children on the list flaring and feeling bad, but I think its

aways good to have hope and see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I sure hope enbrel turns out to be ' light!!!!

Huggs to you and Nick. It is wonderful to hear some happy news!!! We

know how you feel when you first started to see some of the

improvements. You start wondering if it is really there and then BAM

you know they are real. It seems like Nick is responding the same way

that Garrett did and to quote his rheumy, Enbrel can be Harry Potter's

magic wand for many of our little angels. Garrett has only 1 joint

that is still slightly compromised , but for us lay people you

wouldn't even know it :) and then the real biggy, no systemic flares.

I pray that this will be the same for Nick as well as the rest. You

are in our thoughts and prayers!! Keep the good news coming!

Whoo Hoo,

Congradulations Helen.I am so happy the Enbrel seems to be working.I hope

things go well when school starts back up.When responded it was like it

was

makeing him wired up and full of energy.

You have always said you thought Nick would always feel fatigued and tire

easily no matter how well he was doing.Don't count on it.I think he may surprise

you.

Helen,

I am so happy that enbrel is doing the trick for Nick. It is so

reassuring to hear some good news and to know that there is hope

that a remission (even a medicated remission) can at times be

achieved.

Your heart must be so full watching your little boy return to his

happy self. I always feel like the tightness in my chest just goes

away when Aundrea's flare gets under control

Aundrea has been doing really well with the mtx/plaquenil/steroid

combo. She had some issues with tummy ache, loose stools and

fatigue. We are going to split the dose this weekend so hopefully

that will help out. She hasn't had any joint pain so maybe this

will be the drug that will work for her. We will know more as we

continue the taper of pred.

So very happy that Nick is doing great and will pray that he

continues to feel wonderful!

Im glad to read Aundrea is responding well to her new " cocktail " I

hope the tummy issues let up soon. I think splitting the dose is a

GREAT idea. I didnt know about this. Its good to know incase we do

run out of inj. MTX and have to revert back to the pills. This list

is just amazing at helping out with smart ideas!!!

Have a great new year and 2005!!!

-Becki...

I sure hope you are right....:o))))))

We moved Nick onto the main level of the house, before he was

upstairs in a loft bed. This is hard on his knees, so hes now in a

single bed on the main level and doesnt have stairs to do so often.

His xmas pressents were all kinds of quiet sitting down stuff, new

games for his beloved gamecube, a portable DVD player for doctors

appts ( we are usually in there for 90 mins and he gets so bored as

the doc and I talk) legos etc.

But im loving seeing him come running out of his room with a huge

smile on his face chattering about mario this and that.. not that I

understand him, but hes pretty excited.

BTW, Nick wants to be a kindergarten teacher when he grows up.. he

asked the other day of they get paid for teaching, once I said yes,

that was it, thats doing to be his job!! LOL. I thought it was

pretty cute!!!
