Guest guest
I wear my Kids Get Arthritis Too shirt all the time! I also wear my Pedirhoom Boom Boom Shakers Shirt (its my pediatric rheumi office's team) all the time. I've had people stop and ask what the heck it is and I get to explain to them. I also as some remember have done papers and a speech on it, which was scary as heck to get up and talk about it, but I have never felt prouder. We gotta do what we gotta do. I kind of like the idea of having a different color from the adult arthritis because it is so different, but at the same time I do like the royal blue. Guest guest
I agree. Personally I don't want to be associated with Adult Arthritis.. I mean not that I don't want to be associated but I want the difference to be known. I am twenty now technically an adult, but this fight started long ago when I was six. I was looking at pictures from when I was diagnosed.. six years old the size of four year old.. my little swollen knee's and my little hands unable to grasp things.. that year I dxd was also the first year I threw out my back.. I was making my bed and I turn to quickly and threw out my back.. I couldn't walk or move.. I was six.. that's not normal.. prior to that my biggest concern that year before the diagnosis was whether or not I would be in the same class as my friends from kindergarten, after diagnosis my whole life changed.. I think its important that we show the difference.. because yeah I'm 20 and I have arthritis.. but it started when I was six.. I don't want to have the ribbon and people assume its just arthritis.. oh look yeah joint pain do you take aspirin... I want people to see the ribbon and say whats that for and me be able to say Juvenile Arthritis.. and no its not just a little joint pain.. I mean either way I will support the ribbon we need one.. but I think its important to seperate ourselves from the royal blue.. i mean Royal Blue isn't just arthritis.. its child abuse.. its prostrate cancer.. its sucide awareness.. so who knows that if people would even pick up the fact that blue meant arthritis.. if we have a color that no one else has.. well then I think more questions would be posed and more awarness can be brought.. Guest guest
Yes, I think they will be around $3.00 each. Ribbon Magnets Ok. Everyone! I was able to find a printer here in Minneapolis that can do the Ribbon Magnets for us. However, are we sticking with the Blue for the ribbon?? Or is there another color that we would prefer?? Once I find out when they can be ready, I will send out an order form. Alia and Caroline, age 2, poly and uveitis
