Guest guest
Emilie, I am so happy for you and .The best part being it looks like the arthritis is calm. Good luck with the pred taper and hoping no need to restart an apropriate dose of Enbrel. I pray this is all little needs to get her immune system stable again and not catch so much crud. It sounds like this was definately worth the drive. Enjoy your chill time and keep smiling. Hugs Becki and 6 systemic
Guest guest
I know you are happy to get off enbrel, how long has she been on it? my daughter has been taking it for a year now, and I also was wondering about RF factor I thought if you have poly the RF is always positive! --------------------------------- Messenger Show us what our next emoticon should look like. Guest guest
That is great news that you have found a dr you and like and feel comfortable with. I hope that things go well for . It sounds like the dr is really checking things out well. Hugs, Michele (17, pauci & spondy) Ahleys Appt at Shriners... Hi all, s appt went great and she is now a pt of Dr. Rothman. We are stopping the enbrel cold turkey (dr. could not believe she was on as much as she was), are tapering the prednisone to try and get off it.. and staying with the methotrexate for now. She said looks like she is in a remission, but she thinks it's because of all the meds. We are going to start getting rid of some of them and see what happens. We now have to go every six months to the eye doctor. It is so cool to have a doc who seems to know what she needs.. Her sed rate is a little elevated (33). We are doing a fecal blood test, she also drew blood to redo the ANA and RF factor. When they were done in 2002 they were negative, she wants to make sure that they haven't converted to positive ANA and RF. It was a long ride, but definately well worth it. Things definately seem to be moving in the right direction now. really likes it there so that is a plus too. Well I am off to chill out for a while... Hugs to all, Emilie ( 5 Poly)
Guest guest
Kay, She has been on the enbrel for almost 2 now. I do not know about the RF factor always being + with poly, she's been poly since the beginning... Emilie Re: Ahleys Appt at Shriners... Guest guest
Great News! I can hear the relief in your voice! :-) It is wonderful to have a doctor that you feel you can work with and a treatment plan that you are both agreeable to. Its good that was comfortable with the new doc and staff. That always makes such a huge difference. I will keep in my prayers that the pred taper will go well! Guest guest
Helen, I think that she will... the first step was stopping the Overdosing of the Enbrel.. The new doc could also not believe that the old one was giving joint injections in office without putting her to sleep for them. She promised today that it would never happen again... hugs, Emilie Re: Ahleys Appt at Shriners... -Emilie, Im so glad you feel better after your appt.
