Hi :

It sounds like you have a lot of legitimate reasons to need to vent!

It also sounds like you have made sure you are very well informed and

have a good support network that are reasonably knowledgeable. Maybe

you will have better luck when you move, and I understand your concerns

about how all the doc changes affect Aundrea. We have been SO lucky...

when Mickey was first diagnosed, we saw a TERRIBLE rheumatologist -

very out of touch and old fashioned, but he had a partial pediatric

designation, so that was where we were first referred. Then, we saw a

really good adult rheumy, but when she realized the diagnosis was

sytemic, she felt we would be better served by a pediatric rhuemy that

could handle all the complications of this and had experience with it.

So - we ended up taking her to Toronto Sick Kids and that has worked so

well. She sees the same team all the time and it has made a huge

difference to Mickey's comfort level with the disease and the various

procedures she has had to undergo. It sounds like you're doing the best

you can with an indifferent doctor. I hope you do better with the

relocation, when it happens. It makes such a big difference, having an

involved and sympathetic doctor.

Vent away... sounds like you have legitimate reasons to!
