Zoster Immunoglobulin can only be obtained on a doctor's prescription. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Zoster Immunoglobulin has been prescribed for you. Always discuss the risks and benefits of these medicines with your doctor. Zoster Immunoglobulin is prepared from blood obtained from voluntary donors. Zoster Immunoglobulin contains protein substances called antibodies which can provide protection against the virus causing chickenpox and shingles. It is used for the prevention of chickenpox and shingles in people who are susceptible to virus infection and who come into contact with an infected person.
