Hi Georgina:

How quickly did you see Josh's arthritis symptoms return after stopping the

Plaquenil? How are the paraffin waxes going? Offering some relief? Do they

make bigger ones that could fit his feet/ankles comfortably? Did the MTX dose

help relieve some symptoms? I hope and pray he is feeling better soon

Georgina.

If you come across any more interesting articles/updates on strep, could you

please send them on my way? This will be my question for a long time, whether

is was the strep or the injury that triggered the Still's.

Yeppers, feeling better from the surgery. Glad it is behind me. One less

surgery I will every have to worry about. Never heard of a gallbladder growing

back LOL:)

You got that right! Going through emails after a computer crashes is a time

commitment. I get so many good emails though that I do go through all of

them.

Thankfully, Caitlin continues to do well. She is off the Plaquenil (for

about 6 months now). She is currently only on a prophylactic antibiotic. Her

eye

doctor did a recheck just to be sure all was well. She did fit her with

contacts, well she placed one in her eye to see how she would tolerate it.

Caitlin did fine with it in, but with all the back to school, medical expenses,

etc.

she will have to wait a bit longer for the appointment for the real fitting

and the lenses themselves. Our trees are losing leaves, but, unfortunately,

they aren't money trees LOL! She thinks the colored lenses are 'cool', but she

is more interested in just regular lenses. People would pick her color eyes

out for colored lenses. She's got the most gorgeous sky-blue eyes!

Take care.

Patty

Georgina:

Rob is doing better. Still coughing, but with him it seems to linger on a bit

longer than most, with having asthma. He actually went to our theatre production

(had to sit a lot but made it through) and by the ring ceremony on Sunday he was

doing better. Ring that was fitted back in May was too small! A happy problem,

for sure. Although that one knuckle is so much bigger than the rest, I have

asked him twice if he has pain there, it looks like an arthritic joint. He says

no, but it looks odd.

I am so glad to hear that Josh is doing better. I hope he is able to quickly

taper off the pred and do well.

That's an interesting point you make about saving some of the biologicals for

later. The long term safety has me worried, as well. Becki and I have had many

talks about that, with being in the safety study for Enbrel. But, I do

know that for Rob, it was time for the Enbrel. I know that he has permanent

damage in his hips, and that the inflammation had never been controlled, and we

had to move on to avoid further damage. It also had become a quality-of-life

issue. He is feeling so much better than pre-Enbrel, and he told me this week he

feels like he is continuing to improve. I know that they have many new drugs

that are on the horizon, so it gives me hope that one day we'll have even safer,

better drugs. Hope is always there!! That's why I am trying to devote a lot of

time to the AF walk...hoping to make just a smidgen of difference in my corner

of the world.

I hope that Josh continues to do better. You know, it is a dream of mine for he

and Rob to meet someday, somehow! Wish you could join us in Rhode Island!!

Take care

Hi ,

I thought the story was great! Thanks for sending the link. I've taken

the liberty and cutting and pasting it here, so all will be able to read

it with ease.

Keep up the great work!

Aloha,

Georgina
