Delays in arthritis treatment for kids: CEO of Arthritis NZ Alasdair

Finnie says children suffering juvenile arthritis waiting too long for

treatment

http://home.nzcity.co.nz/news/default.asp?id=42581 & c=w

Arthritis New Zealand is calling on the Government to relieve the pain

of hundreds of children suffering across the country.

Chief Executive Alasdair Finnie says one in a thousand children have

juvenile arthritis, but there is only one specialist paediatric

rheumatologist in New Zealand, who divides her time between Auckland and

Lower Hutt.

He says that means many children often have long and painful delays for

treatment, which will result in greater costs for the health system

further down the track.
