Chief Executive Alasdair Finnie says one in a thousand children have juvenile arthritis, but there is only one specialist paediatric rheumatologist in New Zealand, who divides her time between Auckland and Lower Hutt. He says that means many children often have long and painful delays for treatment, which will result in greater costs for the health system further down the track. © 2004 NZCity, IRN
