Guest guest
a, Congrats on your site. One thing you might want to change --- you said that the MGB is " not invasive " . That is not exactly true unless Dr. R has started using Star Trek-like surgical instruments. A pretty cool trick if he is! He actually states on the web site that the procedure is " minimally invasive " . in GA > OOPS!!! > > > http://shoutjoy.com > > > > aW > >

Guest guest
Judith, Hope you don't mind but wondering if you could e-mail me privately and let me know your weight loss history since the surgery. You and I started out about the same weight. I am only 2 months out this coming up Tuesday. I have lost 30.5 as of today. Some I notice loosing huge amts within 3 months or so. I know every one is different yet thinking that maybe others near my range would be someone to compare to. Can you tell me how much you could eat at different times and any foods you could not tolerate? Tell me how much you could take in at my stage? I am able to eat anything. I get full with not huge amounts but I can have a couple bites of ice cream or anything sweet. M'm's I could eat about 10. I was so hoping to not like sweets. Meats I can only take in smaller amts but able to eat all. I stayed on Phase one for 3.5 weeks and Phase two another 2 weeks. I started introducing new foods in and really not a problem. Fatty foods don't even bother me. I think this is so strange. Mind you small amounts. Thank goodness. I try to eat salads and healthy. I have been experimenting to see where I stand. I can even drink and eat if I want. I really try not to as not sure if its harmful. Still though I can. I feel extremely good. Congratulations on your weight loss. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Sincerely Olsen from WA STATE. My e-mail is denise@... Re: OOPS!!! a, I just checked out your website. Very nice. I enjoyed reading your story. Guest guest
, Just wanted you to know that we definitely are all different. I am 2 years out and like you have always been able to eat pretty much of anything. I can have a whole ice cream cone most of the time if I want it (I obviously don't do it often!). That is just further proof that for me this surgery was a TOOL to help me lose the weight. IT WAS NOT A CURE FOR ANYTHING FOR ME! I am in no way complaining, just stating a fact. Also - you have to know that in the first month after surgery I had only lost 10 pounds!! I am now down about 115 pounds. I am within about 25 pounds of the weight-range goals but I am happy with my size (10's and 12's) and after my plastic surgery I think I will be very pleased to stay right where I am. I am really not interested in being a " single digit " ! in GA > Re: OOPS!!! > > > a, > > I just checked out your website. Very nice. I enjoyed > reading your story. Guest guest
, if you started out at around the same as Judith did, 230 pounds you are not that far away from average weight loss. For that weight... Maybe on the low end, but within normal none the less. There is nifty little comparison thing on the CLOS website everyone might be interested in if they and you don't already know about it. http://www.clos.net/predict-wt-loss.htm It will tell you by the month how you stand for weight loss average wise. Using your starting weight and the number of months you are out from surgery.... Please try not to compare your loss to other peoples loss. It all depends on your body and shape. As long as you loose, that is what is important. I have not lost much in several months now. But I am still at the high end of the average. But my body continues to change! Every time I see on particular friend, who I see fairly regularly, she always comments I have lost more weight.... My body is changing maybe not the scale as much as before. Like you can eat just about anything. Fats no. Meats, particularly steaks are difficult for me. Chicken and Fish I can eat a lot and prefer them. Sweets are not a problem for me nor is dairy products. Most chocolate really bothers me.... I tend to go for lighter tastes now. Just don't push yourself too fast. I didn't have any sweets until 4 1/2 months out and then only a bite or two. I hope to loose another 20 pounds at least. But this last few pounds are going to be harder to loose I think. In a year I'll look at PS and maybe that will take care of some of this around the middle. Guest guest
Hi : My friend who had open RNY about the same time you did has lost 30 # also. I think a lot is determined by your activity level. Keep in touch with that chart on the clos site and it will let you know where you stand. I guess it is still on there I haven't checked in a long time. Phyllis
