Don't mean to jump in, but my youngest had her high school check up and got a shot for her tetanus (sp?) booster. That was the only one she needed. Your daughter may need that one too. Michele

Hi Michele:

Jump away:) We thought of the tetanus too, but, because Alyssa had a pretty severe infection in her toe recently she received that one. Needless to say, she is thrilled that that's one she won't need for years to come:)

Take care.

my 12 year old was at the doctors yesterday, he needed 3 shots for Jr High. I couldnt even watch, I felt that sick feeling in my stomach like I did when i 1st started sticking Nick. It was really weird. I'm so comfortable giving Nick shotsHi Helen:My oldest, Alyssa, has a check up this Friday with her pediatrician and just asked the question this morning "will I have to get any shots". I said I don't believe so as I think she's done with it all. When I read your email it got me to wondering (good english eh LOL) why did need three shots for jr. high? I hope those of us who are attending SD this year and those that can't attend this year will all be able to go to next years. I would love to meet all of you. Heck, I could drive to RI:) Be even closer if we move to NH:)Take care.Patty

Patty..

I think it differs for each state... here the kids need a tennus booster... a MMR booster ( if they only had one when they were younger) the chickenpox vaccine, cant remember the "technical name" for it ( or a history of having Chickenpox) and the HEP B series.

needed the tennus booster, the MMR booster and the 1st in the HEP B series ( he goes back in a month for the 2nd HEP B and then 5 months after that for the final one). He had Chickenpox TWICE so he didnt need that one.

I know they keep changing the requirements here in Minnesota... I believe the Hep B and chickenpox ones are recent additions.

Hope this helps...

Hi Helen:

I know she is up to date on everything, but as you said, things change. I know when she was a baby they didn't have the hep series and once they came out with it, she received the series. Tomorrow we will know:)

Doing okay physically, but mentally disappointed. We had to cancel our vacation plans this year and will be stuck home:( We still have no car for the girls and I and it is making for one very boring summer. I was so looking forward to 'getting away from it all', but not this year. I just hope and pray this transfer comes in for my husband. I am soooooooooo ready to get out of VA! It's nice here, but just to darn expensive to live! Something has got to change!

How is all your way?

Take care.

Patty
