Guest guest
Sorry its taken me a little time to reply to your post... Still getting use to working weekend nights. Hubby did get high speed internet installed and added wireless internet to my laptop, so at least I can read quicker )) if only my typing and replies were quicker too!!!! Sorry that Miss C's appt was not all great news. I can totally understand your dilemia and seeing as we've not had to deal with joint injection issues I cant be of much help there, although I would likely tend to want to do the injection just to get her the quicker relief, but thats just me and I no way want to sway you one way or another. If I were you I would seriously consider switching to injectable MTX. From what i understand from Nicks doc, they are getting a more true dose. Nick does great on the inj, with the cream he doesnt feel a thing. He is very calm and collected about it and its helped his confidence with blood draws. Nick rheumy was also unaware that theres a generic ELMA cream out there. Becki is right, its in a white and yellow box. I pay $10 for a 30grm tube which I have just finished the 1st tube and its lasted since Feb 25th. its used once a week for the MTX shot and a few times for blood draws. I get Nicks from Walgreens. I hope you guys are doing ok, i know its a difficult choice but i know you will do what you feel is right )) hang in there you ARE making the right choices for MIss C. Guest guest
Hey Helen. Thanks so much for your kind words and thoughts. I don't think I would have been able to make this decision without all of you. We are going in to have the surgery tomorrow. She is scheduled for 8:45am so we have to be at the hospital by 7:00am. No sleeping in for us! I will keep in mind the injectable MTX. We will speak with her Dr. tomorrow after the surgery... Thanks again! Guest guest
Thanks Alia- I'm glad that the mixture of meds is working for Caroline's eyes. Hopefully she will be off the prednisone soon. I agree, the uveitis is scarier than the actual JRA. Good luck tomorrow. I'm glad they could get you in so quickly. I hope and pray you see the same success with the aristospan as Genevieve did. Hopefully Miss C. will be feeling better soon. We saw some results soon after but it took about 2 weeks to really see some great improvement. Keep us posted! Therese Z.
