Guest guest
We've been gone for a while. I've been in training for a month for my new J-O-B!!! I am now a son County Social Worker. I'm really excited about working now....so forgive my enthusiasm..LOL Anyway, Allie has started on the Remicade at Duke University. She's taken two treatments so far and has done really well. She is now down to 1.5 mg of Prednisone, which we are very excited about. She loves her doctor at Duke. Dr. Rabinovich is absolutely wonderful with her. She has found that Allie has been " favoring " her right knee b/c of the arthritis in it and that the left leg is about 1 cm longer b/c of it. She is going to need a lift in her shoe, but it will be relatively unnoticable (sp?). Her eyes are absolutely the clearest they've been in a year. We are going for our third treatment on May 10, I think, and she will need to be monitored closely for this one for a possible reaction to the drug. The facility is very equipped if something went wrong so I am not TOO worried. Of course, the worry is there...but, not as bad. Anyway, I'll try to be around more now that I'm coming out of training and able to access the internet more. Hope you are all doing well and that your babies are well also! Hi Helen...hope Nick is fine!!! Take care all! Angie Mom to Allie (7/24/97) Pauciarticular Arthritis-Diagnosed 18 months
Guest guest
-Hi Angie.,, Good to hear from you, its been awhile. Good luck with the new job!! Im glad to read that Allie is doing well on the Remicade treatments and on the clear eyes!! )) thats great news. Nick is doing ok... he had a flare in Jan and ended up on prednisone, MTX, folic acid and iron. Hes been doing well, he didnt tolerate the MTX pills too well so we moved upto the injections and so far so good. In fact Nick can now do his own shots!! We are trying to taper the pred and hit a bit of a roadblock the other week. His MTX has been increased and we have slowed down on the taper. But on the whole Nicks doing well. Guest guest
Hi Angie. Congrats on the new job! That sounds very exciting. Glad to hear Allie is doing rather well, especially her eyes. It's always nice to see an update on Dr. Rabinovich, as we really liked her when she was up here treating Chris. Good luck at the job.
