For example, many times after a major surgery doctors try to get children up and walking as quickly as possible.” Love says a remote control car is an ideal toy to prod a child to get up and moving. Also, she said many times surgery patients need to do deep breathing exercises following a procedure to loosen up fluids and alleviate soreness. Love said pinwheels or bubbles are excellent ways to get kids to breathe.
