Guest guest
Nick has not had his vioxx for 3 days... im out of samples and his rx is late arriving in the mail ( i get 3 months for 1 mth copay) I figured it would'nt hurt to see how he does for a few days without meds. I would really like to get him off meds if he doesnt really need them, and if he did start to complain I could give him some naprosyn. Anyhows he wakes me at 12.30 this morning running a 103 temp, he looks just awful and complains his knees both hurt. We spend the rest of the night on the sofas trying to sleep and off to our ped we go this morning. I had strep last week and I wanted to rule that out before calling his rheummy. He was not complaining of a sore throat. Nick cannot stay awake and is alseep on the table when the doc walks in, after a few minutes of trying to wake up Nick he finally stirs. His eyes are glassy and have huge black rings under them, his face is flushed and his ears are glowing red, hes hunched over on the table trying to sit up and the doc asks him how hes doing... You can all guess his reply.... " Im doing fine " he says and i burst out laughing remembering all the posts on the list. The doc starts asking him a bunch of questions... does it hurt pee??? to which Nick says yes, it hurts standing up!! well duh, if his knees hurt then it would hurt standing to pee. But thats not what the doc was getting at. Anyhows, it turns out Nick has strep and his knees are hurting from not having his vioxx. its hard to tell if his temp is strep related or systemic related. It had gone today, but its now shooting up again. I guess we will see how he does in the next few days, once the anti-biotics start working on the strep we will see if hes actually flaring with a sys temp.... Thought you would all get a chuckle out of the " im fine " comment... hugs Helen and (6, systemic)
