Hi Helen:

Koudos for you:) I always love learning something new with the computer. I

hope you find it easier to keep up with.

<<Patty.. Hope you and Caitlyn make it to your appt tomorrow and you continue

to get positive news back from the labs>>

Thanks Helen. I pray we can get there tomorrow. At the very least, I'll

call for the labs.

<<ts funny how often I see strep pop up when folk are talking about Systremic

onset.>>

It certainly seems to becoming a pattern of sort:( A friend of mine just had

her 18 year old daughter in the hospital (critical) from streptococcus

pneumonia! I have learned a lot about strep these last few months and quite

frankly, it scares the heck out of me.

How is doing now? Feeling better? I sure hope he is.

British passport, I havent become " one of them " yet!! LOL

LOL become one of US:) I live in VA, but I am still called, every now and

then, a Yank or if/when they hear I was raised in Marblehead and Salem they call

me a witch, well better a witch than the other one that starts with a b LOL:)

Take care.

Hi list buddies,

Sorry I have not been as active and supportive of late... just too much to keep up with sometimes. I have switched over to receiving mail instead of reading off the web and have all the mail from this list filtered into its own folder..Pretty impressive, at least it is for me!!! So hopefully I can keep up better.

, Im sorry to read m is now in a full flare... how is she doing today??? did she start back on the pred???

I am continuing to keep Lindsey in my thoughts and I pray the news today will be positive. Im glad Aleasa is sticking around.

Patty.. Hope you and Caitlyn make it to your appt tomorrow and you continue to get positive news back from the labs...

becki... congrats on becoming the chairperson for the Arhritis walk.. I hope I got this right, im going off memory here. Im sure you will be a great advocate for the cause and will help spread the news that Kids get arthritis too.... Glad to hear is doing good.

I also wanted to welcome all the new members... seems like we have had a few in the past few days. You have come to the right place, I still see myself as a newbie/ rookie around these parts, but i have learnt a tremendous amount from all the experts on the list. My son, ,6,was dx last June with systemic onset JRA.. so far hes only been on naproxyn and vioxx but hes not been doing well since he started with a flare after a bout with strep before xmas. Its funny how often I see strep pop up when folk are talking about Systremic onset... In the very beginning when Nick was soo sick last spring they were convinced he had had a untreated bout of strep.. but all the tests came back negative even though they initally dx him with scarlet fever and then possible Kawasakis. Anyhows Nicks JRA has been fairly mild so far, but since this latest flare im seeing more and more signs that his joints are now becoming more involved. The best advice i got when i joined this list was to keep a journal and try and take pictures, not always easy as i have found out. But it helps the docs.

Anyhows welcome to all the newbies, pull up a chair and jump right on in.... you are amongst friends here :o)))))

Hugs Helen, mom to ( systemic, 6 )

P.s to all the Brits on the list.. do I count... im British but have lived in the US for 15 years now.. but I still hold a British passport, I havent become " one of them" yet!! LOL

Rethink your business approach for the new year with the helpful tips here.

HI Patty,

Nick is doing ok... I was thinking he was doing better towards the end of last week. That spark was back in his eyes, if you know what I mean. But then on Saturday he woke up with swollen fingers on his right hand. They were not badly swollen, but enough to look puffy. He comaplained on and off, but other than not being able to brush his teeth and holding his fork in his left hand hes done ok. He seems in fine spirits and has nothing else, ie the rash or fever. So im just documenting it and we will see what happens. Hes settled down again at school and is not crying about going so I hate to call his rhuemy incase she wants to see him and i really dont want to take him out of school etc if ive just got him settled back into a routine. I intend to keep a close eye on it, see how he does at school today ( ive talked to his teacher and made her aware) and go from there weather or not I call.

I do feel better that hes more is normal self, although im a little concerned about the latest developement. He did wake me up at 3.00am telling me it hurt, we cuddled and he took himself off back to bed and was fast asleep when i went in to ask if he needed some tylenol. This morning he says its not as bad as last night....Sometimes its soo hard to judge with little kids how bad.. bad actually is.

Hope you are able to make it to Caitlyns appt today... hows the weather???

Hugs Helen, mom to (6,systemic)

Hi Helen:

I am glad to hear Nick is improving. I hope his swollen joints/pain subside

quickly. How has today gone for him? Did he go to school? We had no school,

again, due to snow/ice. We were able to get to Caitlin's rheumy appointment

though:) Tomorrow we have to drive about an hour for her sister 's

endo appointment. I am hoping and praying we can keep hers too. To reschedule

that one would take at least 2 months urrghhhh:(

Take care.

Patty
