Usually her pain will resolve within a couple of hours but so far she has continued to have pain since Sunday night. I went to check up on her at school today and she was just leaving the nurses station with an ice-pack. Her wrist was red and a little swollen. I think I will call the new ped. rheumatologist and see if they might have any cancellations come up where they could see Aundrea before March 9th. >> Hi : Sorry to hear Aundrea is still suffering:( I hope her pain ends soon and you have luck getting the rheumy appointment moved up. March 9 is such a long time away when your child is suffering. Take care. Patty
Guest guest
Hi : How's Aundrea today? Did she go to school? I can see the difficulty with the appointment. I agree that it would be so helpful for all of you to be able to have your husband attend that meeting. It's so hard to get appointments that work for us, as well as the doctor's schedule! I wish there were more rheumys then maybe it'd be easier to get appointments and faster! Who does she see now? I hope February flies by quickly for her. Caitlin is (knock knock knock, on wood) doing great with her half day schedule at school. This is her last week (unless we have reason or desire to change it) of half days. I just don't know what they will do with her for PE and Guitar next week. I can't imagine her playing contact sports, etc. at PE for an hour and forty minutes. She had one boy write her a note and rolled up his chewed up gum in it today - YUCK! This boy constantly writes her love notes, etc. asking her to " date " him and be his girlfriend. I contained myself when she said the gum thing as to not make her neurotic, but it was all I could do, because I instantly thought " what if he has strep " . My preschool is having a strep outbreak too! If they could just dx her, I might feel a little assured about the strep causing JRA and not RF. Yes, all my girls keep me in my own private medical school! My friends say I should just go back to school and follow it up with a real medical degree LOL or, at a minimum, write a book. I hope and pray spring will bring everyone on this list a healthier season too. Thanks for asking about Caitlin's school. Take care. Patty P.S. When you wrote March 9, I realized that I will be 40 years old and real soon! Funny how when we get older, busier or our kids are having a medical issue we forget about everything else. I even forgot to tell my mother to start looking for airline tickets for Alyssa's Confirmation at the end of March. I need a personal assistant LOL:)

Guest guest
Hi Beth, Thanks for asking about Drea. Yesterday, was a pretty difficult day. We had to step out of church for awhile so she could try and stretch but nothing really helped. She was having severe joint and muscle pain as well as fatigue. She kept falling asleep thruout the day and said the couldn't believe how tired she was. She is continuing to have episodes of shortness of breath...(for ie if she runs up the stairs) She said yesterday that she might be ready to restart some medicine and was planning on discussing it with her dr. this Friday. She had pain in her thighs and pelvic area and had to crawl up the stairs. This afternoon she is bouncing around fine and says she has no pain at all. I am wondering if the sun has more to do with this than I realized. She had been out in the sun Sat. afternoon and then Sunday was a horrible day for her. I am going to see if there is a pattern. We go Friday to get the Lupus results. Drea has been catching up with her friends and rearranging her room so she hasn't been on the computer much...I will let her know that Hannah has asked about her and see if she can get an email off before you guys leave. Hope you have a safe and fun trip! P.S. How is the rash doing on Hannah's knee? I hope its clearing up. Guest guest
: I was really hoping Hannah had not heard from her because she was busy. I'm so sorry she's been struggling. Hope she continues to have good days. I always wondered what doctors thought of my journaling Hannah's ups & downs. Last week the immunolgist said she loved it and wished more parents kept as detailed records as I have. The rheumy has also taken copies of them for her records. So keep track. I try and write at least something about Hannah everyday. We will be thinking about you on Friday, sending positive, happy thoughts. Hannah still cannot bear full weight on her knee. She has her MRI next Monday. We also scheduled the bone scan and an appt with the rheumy for the end of July. They wanted her to be out of the cast for 4 weeks before doing the bone scan. The rash is still there, although does not appear to be spreading. It is totally around the injured knee, which sort of makes me question whether its truly from the cast. It looks like small red spots and you can feel them if you run your finger across them. I would think if it was irritation from the cast, more of her leg would have it. Oh well, like everything else so far we will get through it. sonia1md <sonia1md@...> wrote: Hi Beth, Thanks for asking about Drea. Yesterday, was a pretty difficult day.
