Guest guest
, The link has a picture of a baby with a ph probe in place. As mentioned early, the tube is taped to the face to keep it in place. You will be able to do your normal activities except for getting the probe wet. In fact, it is best to have a typical day(i.e. normal activities and eating) so the doctor can see how many reflux episodes you have on a typical day. http://www.g-pact.org/phprobe.htm Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Lori, Thank you for sending this link. Very informative text and it's helpful, also, to see the picture ... after hearing others describe it. Guest guest
Oh Donna I'm so sorry to hear he is going through a pH probe.. I've had like ten of those and they are awful there really isnt much to do except bribe him. Tell him its only 24 hrs and eventually he really will forget its in there he just needs to not focus on it. But seriously dont have him eat things that are really hard to swallow and when he eats tell him to hold the tube to his nose or else he will feel it pull in the back of his throat and while it wont actually go anywhere it feels to weird. Basically just baby him and bribe him sadly its the only way to get through one of those. Are they checking for acid reflux? Guest guest
Sorry but no! My mom did that one a couple times and it wasn't fun for an adult. Only things I can think of are distraction-watch favorite movie, play favorite game etc. Too bad there isn't an easier way like that pill type colonoscopy. e ajaoky@... wrote: quick question...my 10 yr old has just returned home from the hospital and is enduring a PH probe for the next 24 hours. At the moment he is miserable, crying and begging me to take it out. Any suggestions to make him more comfy???? Thanks! Donna
