Guest guest
Hi e: Thanks so much for the Protonix web site. I am glad it is working better for your daughter. How did you get her to swallow it? I hope Caitlin gets good results with it. It would be nice to not have the stomach pain along with everything else. Take care. Guest guest
Patty, Well the swallowing is much easier for her. She will be 17 at the end of the month. Little ones can be hard. You need to check with your pharmacist about it you can open the capsules. My 7 year old takes some serious meds and has since he was a little one. the ones that I could pull apart I would mix into something like applesauce, pudding or ice cream (even if it was at breakfast). My 17 year old buries her prednisone in ice cream (she pushes them into the spooonful so she doesn't have to taste them--works well she says for a lot of meds). Her friends think it is really cool that she gets ice cream for breakfast! Best of luck to you and I hope she finds some relief too. e > Hi e: > > Thanks so much for the Protonix web site. Guest guest
Patty, Oops! I got her many meds confused. It is not a capsule. Try to put it in a bite of her favorite ice cream, pudding, applesauce. Tell her to swallow not chew or let it sit and it should go down quickly. And have a good tasting liquid to wash it down with in case there is some after taste. Rewards can sometimes do wonders. You know a sticker chart or something. You don't take anything away for declining to take it but you reward the good behavior. And if you are inclined to do so, perhaps she could trade a certain number of stickers on the chart for a simple prize--like dollar store items, a trip to the park, or something like that. Best of luck. e > > Hi e: > > > > Thanks so much for the Protonix web site. I am glad it is working > better for > > your daughter. How did you get her to swallow it? Guest guest
HI e: Thank you for the pill advice. I am sure Caitlin would love to have ice cream:) So far she hasn't had to take the Protonix so it hasn't been an issue, but good to know for the future. Take care. Guest guest
Hi, When Josh was younger we used a reward reinforcement strategies and sticker charts were always a favorite way to help keep track of his successes. Just have to be sure to include the siblings by choosing appropriate charts for them, as well, so they won't feel left out. This worked out great for us. For Josh, the liquid medicines tasted so bad that he was more than willing to learn how to swallow pills, tablets and capsules, very early on. Aloha, Georgina boundforlondon wrote: >Patty, > >Oops!
